Ummm….Their stadium has been torn down to build their new stadium so obviously that would not work. Also Rice earned the right to host at their home stadium…Suck it up.

Rice fans, do you think you deserve to host the Championship?
Marshall is higher then Rice in the 1st computer. Let's hope it's this way with all of them.

Hopefully this riles up the 100 Rice fans enough though and gets them to bring 10 people each.
Your photos are the visiting and students side of the stadium. The press box is above the home side. We had 20,000 and the lower bowl on the Rice side was mostly full. The students were on Thanksgiving break.
Give it a rest. You do realize Rice has 3,800 undergraduate students, 2,500 graduate students, and 52,000 living alumni? The University of Houston also played a home game Friday, in Reliant Stadium against SMU, and drew 23,000. You will not get any apologies for our attendance against Tulane.
I love how there are always pictures of the "empty side of the stadium"
And Marshall drew 25+(Really was more like 28k)... the day after Thanksgiving... at noon...

Well that is not was your initial post said…Also Marshall talking attendance smack is a little silly. It is not like you guys have been filling up your stadium…Are you scared???
And how is that not what I said it my intial post?
I never said the Rice football team doesn't deserve to have it at their stadium.
I addressed it to RICE FANS and used the pronoun YOU.
I think Rice football team deserves it, but I don't think their fans do.

Of all the computers I believe Marshall has been ahead of Rice.

RE: Rice fans, do you think you deserve to host the Championship?
I don't much like this thread. Football is a game of rules, and the rules for hosting the conference championship are set well before the season starts. It will come down to BCS standings, and Rice likely will lead the Herd in that category.
And there are good reasons:
1. Overall strength of schedule is similar: Rice opponents are 60-84 and Marshall's are 59-85
1a. Combined record of teams lost to, is also similar: Rice 24-12 (2 P5 teams and 1 Conference loss); Marshall 23-13 (1 P5, 1 G4 and one Conference loss)
2. Rice has a win over a P5 team, Kansas. Marshall does not
3. One of Marshall's wins was over an FCS team. Rice did not play an FCS team
In my mind, if I was voting, I'd put Rice slightly ahead of Marshall, even with our dominating win over ECU. It will be closer, but Rice will likely still be ahead, and that settle it.

I love attendance smack as much as the next ECU fan, but you really need to average more than 30k to be doing it.

You're just firing off one dumb remark after another.
When a team averages what Rice does in a stadium the size of their stadium there will always be unflattering pictures taken. You scoff at the idea of an "empty side" and then turn around and claim that Marshall underreported their attendance? Seriously? What reason would Marshall have to underreport? Nevermind that you're talking about a difference of ~10%. You scoff at the idea of an "empty side" but claim that your school underreported and that you can somehow see the difference bbetween 25,100 and 28,000.
Your second response is even more comical, does a fanbase deserve to host a championship...what does that even mean? No fan base deserves anything any more than any other fanbase. I'm actually dumbfounded by this notion, I do not uunderstand how anyone could think the relative strength of a fanbase has any bearing on where a game should be played.
