MT beats formerly undefeated Mississippi State
MT ladies beat Mississippi State 62-48 and win the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Florida. An SEC team goes down. The Raiders led by 20+ late in the game before a minor rally by the Dogs at the end. A quality win. The Raiders move to 4-3 on the year, with losses only to unbeaten #3 Tennessee by 10, unbeaten #7 Kentucky (who just beat #4 Louisville) by 12, and unbeaten Arkansas by 15. I don't foresee the Raiders losing any more games this year, pending, of course, how conference competition shapes up. They look good.

Congrats. At least you guys are playing a tough OCC like Tech. Losses to LSU, SC, UVA here. But y'all will kill us this year.

C-USA is going to be tougher than the sun belt was, where there really was not much competition.

Honestly I would put a lot more stock in your earlier losses to ut and uk than a win over moo u. Until this tourney they had not played anyone with under a 200 rpi. A week ago their opponents were combined 0-12.

Im excited because this looks to be a better league than the old cusa. Southern Miss has a really good young squad and mtsu comes here. That one right now is a coin flip. You also have to to go ecu who is very hard to beat at home. Utep coming to you is a break. They are really tough.

We may not lose for the rest of the season. Our freshman class is going to rule this conference for the next four years. They are LEGIT.

CUSA will be tougher, but you're slighting UALR big time, they were likely better than nearly anyone in CUSA as well, outside of them and WKU up until the last five years ago, you're right.

I agree. Believe me when I say they are some of the best in the nation. Ty Petty hit 6 threes as backup PG in our opening tourney game, and Olivia Jones is already a competitor. China Dow can hit threes like no other, and she'll compete well.

I have zero idea what their roster is like this year, but they've had some very good teams over the last five or six years.

I think UALR is a really good team; that being said they seem to have lost some integral parts of their system. It is a great win for USM - the UALR program is very respectable.
