Teddy was amazing. One more hope here that The ACC is watching what a great program we have at Cincy and now the stadium gets an 85 million dollar upgrade and expansion. Hope to be invited back to ACC land this week for the Belk Bowl.

Many of us would not be upset to see Cincy coming in as #16 if/when ND becomes a full member.

Agreed. While I love that Louisville is in the Atlantic Division with Florida St and Clemson, I wouldn’t mind swapping divisions with Georgia Tech.

I agree. Cincy is a good pick if/when ND decides to make the jump we expect them to.

+1 to that I am afraid the coaches won't let it happen but there is a ton of fan support to keep playing Cincy in basketball and football no matter what the conference situation!

BINGO. This. I wouldn't mind Cincinnati in the ACC someday, but in the meantime, I'd like to see various teams (including VT) play the Bearcats in both football AND basketball...

I like UC as a program but a 40,000-seat stadium? A basketball arena that their own fans say is horrible. A small budget. Eh.

They do have access to Paul Brown Stadium and multiple arenas for the bigger games. They can easily make the transition work. Probably better than 90% of other schools out there.

Louisville and Cincinnati have been joined at the hip for decades. It will be tough to see the rivalry put on the shelf but hopefully it will be worked out in a couple of years that we can play the first game of each season with them. In the meantime, we are excited to develop new rivalries in our new conference. Go Cards!!

Is there any chance Teddy Bridgewater comes back next year? Maybe the allure of playing in a better conference. I'm sure he projected as a first round pick, so it would be hard to stay.

He graduates next week and really has no reason to come back. If you've heard his story over the last couple of years, his mother is a breast cancer survivor and they come from a tough neighborhood in Miami. He needs to go to the NFL while the iron is hot and their is guaranteed signing bonus money available to care for his family. I think the majority of Card Nation feels the same way.

I guess there will also be at least 1 game a year in basketball between the schools. I am not aware of Louisville's past opponents in football but I am guessing that Syracuse probably has played Louisville as much as any other school in the ACC.

Football

1. Pitt............16 games...series record is 8-8
2. Florida St....14 games....series record is 2-12
3. Syracuse.....12 games....series record is 6-6
4. Miami..........11 games....series record is 1-9-1

11. WF.............1 game....series record is 1-0
12. Clemson.......0 games....series record is 0-0
13. GT..............0 games....series record is 0-0
14. ND..............0 games....series record is 0-0

Basketball

2. VT.............36 games....series record is 28-8
3. ND.............32 games....series record is 20-12
4. GT.............28 games....series record is 15-13
5. Syracuse.....22 games....series record is 15-7

12. BC..............5 games....series record is 2-3
13. Clemson.......3 games....series record is 3-0
14. WF..............3 games....series record is 2-1

I suspect the budding rivalry will continue to be close in football.
I think our team played well this year (far exceeded my expectations) and will have a solid team next year.
I think basketball will really help to increase interest in the rivalry because it appears that both schools will be really good over the next few years. It looks like in basketball there is a clear separation between: Syracuse, Louisville, Duke and North Carolina and the rest of the ACC schools.
Its nice playing familiar teams in the same division versus teams with little or no history (i.e.- Wake Forest, NC State, FSU, Clemson). I guess with anything it takes a while to get used to playing certain schools.

Exactly..Teddy Bridgewater needs to take care of himself and his family...he will go down as the most popular Football Player in Louisville history.

Yes, sounds pretty definitive that he's leaving. Thanks for the update.
