A potpie?
Not chicken pot pie. You know what I'm talking about, you roll out the dough into squares or buy it frozen. Boil a chicken, take it out and debone it, put it back in the broth, drop the pastries in to the boiling water, serve it on a plate, put lots of pepper and salt on it. It is comfort food. The pastries aren't thick but thin and soft. I'm not sure if it is served in other parts of the country or not but it is a staple in North Carolina. Some people call it Chicken stew, some Chicken and dumplings, some call it Chicken Slick.
Yeah, Chicken and dumplings.

Some of my friends out in QC and from different parts of the country from school and the coast guard tell me that there's one thing that makes me sound different:
What do you do to a light? Cut it off or Turn it off.

I cut the light off. I am also willing to run you to the store and mash the button. How about you?

Cut the light off, carry someone to the store, etc.... Don't hear those as much now but I grew up hearing them.

Makes sense though since those are southern cities and have some similarities with terms Kentuckians use. As others have noted, people migrate, education level can change your use of terms, age can have an affect, etc. so nothing's perfect. For example, I chose "you guys" instead of "ya'll" once and still got Louisville. Those of us in border states are mutts culturally, sometimes.
do you say "worsh and wrench" for wash and rinse? I've known a couple of Kentuckians and West Virginians that used those "words".

RE: This is cool. Put me in a city 15 miles from where I grew up.
A buddy of mine was driving with his wife somewhere in the upper midwest when they developed car trouble. It was a minor thing that he could deal with himself, so he found an open auto parts store.
It was almost closing time when they went in, and while he stood at the counter waiting for the part he needed, someone started turning off the overhead lights.
Buddy's wife asks one of the counter help, "Are y'all fixin' to close?"
Guy replies, "Ma'am, we don't fix clothes here. This is an auto parts store."

Just remember, like they taught me in North Carolina, the 'r' is silent in 'worsh'.
