his name fits him. Very giving to the Big Ten it seems

Yet he has Louisville 6th, so we beat his #6 team on the road, lose on a buzzer beater at home, yet are ranked 19th according to him.

Anyone notice NC Central getting a vote in one of the polls? I think they may put a surprise into the 1,2,or 3 seed they're going to play in March

You know, besides St Louis, I can't really argue vehemently against anyone he has us behind in that poll. I think there is a pretty big group of "second tier" teams that are roughly the same talent level team-wise and we could be placed anywhere within that group and it would make sense with me.

On one level, I'm inclined to agree with you. We know St. Louis hasn't beaten three current top 25 teams as UC has. For that matter, I'm guessing there are several teams ranked above UC that don't have those quality of wins. And I know Syracuse is really good but had UC lost to stinkin' Boston College the Bearcats would have dropped like a rock to the bottom of the polls.

I can't believe Louisville jumped from 11 to 5. I'll admit they are peaking and it may help our cause some, but still surprising they jumped so far so fast.

Their resume is still a little thin, but they finished really strong. They will likely be underseeded in the tournament due to the lack of quality wins. I'd hate to be the team that draws them in the second round.

What bothers me is that Louisville and Cincy split everything right down the middle for the most part but they make a six slot jump and UC only makes a two slot jump. Are they hot? Sure, but seems like a big slap in the face to me.

There seems to be a disconnect between the voters and the bracket makers. If you believe the polls, Louisville is playing for a two seed while Cincinnati is playing for a three seed this week. The resumes tell a different story because UC's profile is better. Once again, pollsters have Iowa State closer to 4/5 line than bracket makers do. Part of me believes the AP and Coaches polls are closer to where teams will be seeded than the bracket matrix.

There's a lot of NCAA Tournament history supporting the case for teams making runs deep into the brackets in consecutive years. Louisville certainly seems more than capable this year. They're probably hoping they didn't peak last Saturday vs. UCONN. They were unbelievably dominant in that game against a quality opponent.

Yeah , a lot of comes with 2 big wins , a win at ranked SMU where no one else could win and a 30 pt trouncing of a ranked UConn, and good timing . Alot of teams in front of them lost and they have that little thing called defending national champions hanging on them .

All that said right now UC resume is better and we get a higher NCAA seed .

They are measuring 2 totally different things. Pollsters are ranking who the best teams are. Bracket makers are ranking your accomplishments this season based on your resume. Whether you agree or disagree, the consensus is that Louisville is a really good (top 5) team, but they don't have the resume to prove it. Personally, I think both groups are right.

That is my point. Who wants to see Louisville as a four or five seed?

Just looked at the AP poll for the first time this week. Two numbers 8's and no Kentucky. Hell must hve froze over.
