That tops Michigan's deal with Adidas. The rich get richer:

I'm really wondering if these mega deals will get Reebok, Adidas, Nike, and say Russell Athletic to start a bidding war for schools across the country. Obviously ND is a pretty large brand to be associated with but market penetration could be as important name association.

Biggest apparel deal ever.

10 years, $90 million.

Could be worth a lot more, ND receives stock in Under Armour.

ND gets total control over uniform design.

ND refuses to allow Under Armour to place any signage inside Notre Dame Stadium.

Um, is that a good thing, or bad thing?

It's really unfortunate that what the teams are wearing has become a big part of the game. Soon we'll have a fashion report segment on SportsCenter.

Hate to say it, and know I will get a lot of vitriol but that Irish uniform is just ugly.

I like the uniform design control stipulation. Whether you love or hate Notre Dame, they're one of the perennials, and it would be sad to see them trotting out on the field in some gaudy uniform because somebody in marketing at UA thinks that "the kids will buy it".

You can't ignore the different tastes of younger people, but I think that it's important to be able to ensure that the flavor of the month still well represents your program. After all, while kids may be the ones buying jerseys, it's the grumpy old farts who don't like those newfangled duds that write the big checks to the university. 04-cheers

It was ugly. It was a one time, special "Shamrock Series" uniform.

Hopefully, it will never be seen again.

You forget the retro effect. If ND discontinues the uniform, it becomes eligible as a uniform for a retro game, when both teams use old uniforms. So I doubt you'll ever fully get away from that ugliness.
