My biggest concern with all of this is filling voids in numbers....has been all along. Monk is obviously concerned as well since he mentioned it almost immediately during the stream interview.

Time to go hunt for a new recruiting specialist.....

Buh bye Buck....

Rivals has REALLY dropped the ball today by being down. If you can't handle the heat, sell the kitchen to someone that can!

Y'all act like this doesn't happen every year. Kids flip all the time. We just had more then normal this year. But it happens every where, all the time.

Normally it is 1 or 2. This year we hit double digits. That is a disaster.

1-23 is a disaster. This may/may not be a disaster, but won't know for 2-4 years.

Certainly believe Monk is much better option to captain the ship than Rockin' Chair, only time will tell.

Would have been nice if Monk could sell 12-2/Champs/BCS ranking rather than 1-23. Makes a difference.

(of course it's just a poster on the "negative nancy" board.... so we'll see, but I hope this isn't true or we're gonna have a REALLY weak recruitment period.)

And that one is official now... Sheesh.. and cheesy reason to start with:

""closer to home and I've been waiting on them."

REALLY? So why give the verbal to USM if you never wanted to be here in the first place? Closer to home arguement I understand. But that second part... BS response

Surprising considering the depth we have at RB.

1-2 is just completely incorrect. We have several a year that do this. I do agree that we have had more then average flip this year and the flips have been much closer to signing day. Which probably makes it seem a lot worse then in years past.

But considering we have been 1-23, I say we are doing a very good job recruiting an would have been a great job if we hang on to half the guys thy flipped.

Combine all that and I can see why some feel like the sky is falling.

I've followed Southern Miss recruiting closely for years. Usually... within the last week our commits have almost always stayed locked in. We might lose 1 or 2. Never, have I seen 7 drop us over a 3/4 day period like this. This is WAY above average. The reality is that we got whipped in recruiting. Back-to-back terrible seasons didn't help. But, I've got to believe some coaches couldn't close the deal or fell asleep at the wheel down the stretch.

WRs Kyle Foster and Mike Thomas are the only two Southern Miss commits left who remain unsigned. Both are expected to sign with the Eagles.

That would be your perception and not reality. There is a reason Monk referenced the flip/social media almost immediately during the streamed interview.

Schools like ours just learned something today. So did Monk.

It's going to be interesting to see how we combat this situation next year.

Buckley isn't the answer.....I feel confident about making that statement.
