Signing Day News!
After attending the North Texas signing day event last night I thought I'd post some of the more interesting news of the night.

- Though the recruiting services didn't seem to think very highly of the Mean Green's class, UNT did fill it's needs with quality players, some might even contribute early. Lot's of talent in this class.

- There was interest in moving the SMU/UNT series to the Cotton Bowl, but it won't happen. The series will remain a home and home. As it should.

- There was interest in moving the SMU@UNT game to a Thursday night for national T.V. That won't happen either. Our last Thursday night game, UNT had 22,000 in the stands on Halloween to watch the Mean Green beat Rice. North Texas should be able to attract a much larger crowd by keeping the game on Saturday.

- North Texas will feature the Eagle logo on their helmets next season, and there will be more alternate looks in the Mean Green uniforms.

- "Beyond the Green", the North Texas Football television series should return next season.

- Coach Dan McCarney's new contract should extend his time at North Texas through the 2018-2019 season. Other terms of the deal are not yet known.
