RE: CBD Regional Projections
Hopefully we will have 5th with Southern Miss. I think we have as good of a shot as Tulane of making a regional this year.

RE: CBD Regional Projections
As does UTSA. I think we have been largely overlooked in all these projections (sounds like football). If one thing is certain we should have a very competitive and exciting baseball season

I'm not-yet familiar with UTSA baseball, but Southern Miss definitely has as good a shot as Tulane to make it to a regional. (A better chance, probably.)

UTSA won the WAC in 2013 and had Oregon St beat in the NCAA tournament until they blew the save. Oregon St won on a walk of double. They are returning many starters including the pitching staff and should do well this year.

I wish I could say I'm confident we will be good this year, but I'm not... Yikes.

I'd be real happy if Tulane went to Tallahassee or Louisville. One is just a 2 hour drive and the other is where my sister lives.

Just make sure one of you make it to Omaha so I'll have a team to cheer for.

Speaking of which, I'm not understanding why Tulane got a first place vote in the preseason poll and is projected to make a regional.
They hit .250 with ten home runs as a team last year....and lost their best hitter and a couple other starters.
Their pitching staff lost Rizzotti, Napoli, and Byo. Unless LeBlanc is ready to take a big step or McKenzie magically returns to pre-injury form, there's little returning other than their closer.
I'm assuming they brought in an unbelievable recruiting class for them to have any expectations?

eaglejxn, we did lose a lot, but that is not all that bad after the production those seniors had last year. We will be starting up to 6 newcomers this Friday, including 5 true freshman (includes #2 shortstop in high school) in the field and our starter on the mound. This is the best class Jones has had in 10 years, but I tend to agree with you regarding how high we are projected in CUSA. You never know what to expect out of freshman.

I really expected a lot from that Cannizaro-Crohan-Boudreaux class. Weird how that whole group absolutely dropped off a cliff after great freshman seasons. I guess they just never got a feel for the new bats?
Hope you guys get back in your groove--at least for this last season in C-USA. USM-Tulane was always THE rivalry in C-USA. We better be scheduling a weekend series for OOC play in the future.
