I do not doubt it's a real person...it's just a real person who calls in and plays several roles for them.
It is also the same guy who used to do Thad the gay waiter. Totally made up characters. Straight outta the Phil Hendrie play book.

I don't know why people let stuff like this bother them. If you don't like it, don't listen. It's clearly a form of satire. I don't listen to WLW anymore but I used to when that Richard from Indian Hill dude would call in to Tracy Jones and routinely just piss people off. How people would let someone like that get under their skin so routinely boggled my mind.
He would literally suggest that the Reds hold customers in the game at its conclusion so that he and other high paying customers could leave without a traffic jam, or something along those lines. And people would freak out. Don't be such an easy target.
Easy target?!?! You fall for Richard being real and I'm the easy target. I'm voicing my displeasure that the radio station who is the voice of the bearcats have collectively decided to start sh$t with this crap about mick needing to go. Whether you tune out or not, it ought to bug any UC fan that our programs flagship station pulls this crap. Wouldn't happen in columbus or Lexington.

The "Big One" exists for 2 reasons:
1. it gives the peckerwoods a place to feel good about themselves and listen to their own voices.
2. To get normal folk riled up.

The goal of WLW is to make and maintain a profit level acceptable to CC, which it does. Considering it is an AM station, that is saying something.
CC could have taken the higher road, and programmed WLW similar to other former "clear channel frequency" stations 840/WHAS, 830/WCCO, 1040/WHO, 870/WWL, 760/WJR, 720/WGN.
Unfortunately, they took the low road to those profits. In my opinion, the "why" has to do with Darryl Parks who until recently was in charge of the local CC cluster, and before taking charge programmed WLW.

No you didn't. The announcement is about a week or two off, as I understand it.

Who said anything about him being real or not?
I don't really know what would happen in Columbus or Lexington. It doesn't really matter though.

I am confident that Santa knows that Mick is a valuable coach for this university. I think he will do anything in his power to keep him there, my concern is the $.

RE: Cronin/UC close to extension through 2021
I heard George Vogel during the 6:00 newscast. Basically, they were retracting a factual error they had reported earlier--that the deal was done. They got way ahead of their skis on this one and it was appropriate to make the correction.
That said, Mick has stated repeatedly that he has a great relationship with President Ono and this extension will get done. UC will find the resources. As we've seen with football coaches, it's often more expensive to replace than retain and there is a signficant revenue stream from the Big East split waiting for UC, UCONN and USF.
Could we have just one banner year in football or basketball where the local media could stop their obsession with a coach leaving and give us more features on one of the greatest players to ever wear the Red and Black (SK)? Or some feature stories celebrating one of the best seasons in what is nationally acknowledged to be one of the elite college basketball programs in NCAA history?
