Doug Beaumont-(Along with Victor Anderson as the best player in the state of Kentucky) has committed to play for Louisville. Huge get for the Cards.

He will be either a WR or CB. I hope he plays CB myself we need help at that position.

I love it! I think Beaumont's the best SR in the state. Granted Doug B was likely a UofL lean the whole way since he's from there and friends with some guys on the team, but it looks like yesterday's first recruit payoff happened quickly.

With 1:22 left in the game they led a large group of recruits (via the Lou. CJ, most were highly ranked), out the tunnel of my section and down to the field for the final minute. First impressions for a visit weekend can't get much better.

This is wonderful. If you look at it, Louisville has made this big surge mostly with homegrown talent in the skilled positions. Bush, Bromh, and Mario are all natives with special ties to the hometown school unlike players who are imported. It's important to have a broad recruiting base, but just as important to have a core of players whose relationship with the college goes a little deeper than four years. They don't just reside here....they live here.

A few of the guys that were at the UofL @ Miami game for a visit.

Mark Barnes:

Luther Davis:

Barnes would be a huge pickup if we can get him out of South Carolina. While the current guys are improving, we can certainly use some depth in the defensive secondary.
