Just saw on Twitter that Dale Jr. Is a 49ers fan. Did not know that. Just gave a shout out to Charlotte.

I think his sister is an alum.

There is a huge amount of motorsports wealth in the Charlotte metro area. We have one of the best (if not the best) motorsports engineering programs in the country, so hopefully that'll pay dividends for us some day.

Would be nice to have a wealthy Nascar driver pumping some money into our athletics program.

Glad to have him. In fact, we're glad to have any fan we can get these days. This mens basketball season has really been depressing for Niner Nation.

Former 49er walk-on Travis Gordon is a Data Engineer with Hendrick Motorsports and backup gasman on Jeff Gordon's team (not related). Over 10% of all the engineers in NASCAR went to Charlotte.

Isn't Joe Gibbs a donor as well? Hasn't he given to both Charlotte and Davidson in the past?

We also have the Alan Kulwicki Motorsports Lab (Building) and the annual Kulwicki scholarship given by his estate.

Definitely need to get him and Panthers' players on campus more. I know we have had quite a few NBA teams practice on campus and the rapper/singer J Cole plays pick-up ball sometimes.

I believe Charlotte engineers get a good amount of jobs and internships with NASCAR. As much as people hate on the sport, there's big time money to be made. Wouldn't surprise me if many drivers were friendly with quite a few Charlotte grads and pull for the 49ers.

Also, Dale Jarrett's son Zack is a freshman on our baseball team this year. Dale should be on campus a lot over the next 4 years.
