When do C-USA media contract negotiations begin?
Current deals run thru the 2015-16 school year.

The Fox deal was first announced in January 2011 and it took effect in September of 2011. That means the negotiating had been going on for at least a few months prior to January 2011.

Using a similar timeline, I would think negotiations in earnest would begin in the Fall of 2015 if not earlier. Anyone have a clue?

Hopefully sooner rather than later. Does the dissolution of the CSS network possibly hasten the negotiation? I don't know the details but I would hope so.

CSS typically bought excess inventory from CBS-S, so they weren't directly involved with the deal

^ Right, but CBS-S bought with the intent to sublicense...not sure how/if that changes anything. Could NBC-S be a player? I only ask b/c in a recent interview the AAC commish talks pretty candidly about the tv deal and how it went down. One of the more interesting tidbits was that NBC was trying to buy a whole league on the cheap...hence the great exposure. Putting on my Velma hat, that would have been 3 NBC OTA games...double headers with ND perhaps? Could CUSA be a player in such a scenario...worth checking into even if the $ aren't much more.

If NBC could provide the exposure, I'd rather have that than more $. Money is nice, but making your product available to people is really important. I know CUSA will never be a showcase conference on a major sports network, but I would be happy if we could manage being the second priority.

Replacing CBSSN with NBCSN will be an improvement. EPL leading into games,mp,us since y'all would be their only FBS conference they will pick up a ton more games than say CBSSN could offer. Y'all of course stay with Fox. I would love CUSA to get deals with all 3 but that may not be logical.
