The crazy thing is that our second lowest ranked recruit has garnered offers from Clemson, The U, Penn State, Pitt, West Virginia, Syracuse and Mississippi State in the past few weeks. He has been clocked running a 4.3 forty in camps recently. Kid is about to get bounced up big time-- hopefully he remains a Bearcat.

interesting news, 5star WR robbie rhodes was kicked off baylor for a team violation, if he doesnt end up at JC, houston or smu could be realistic landing spots
UCF just picked up it's 5th commitment from Neal Nelson. He doesn't have any ratings from 247/Rivals/ESPN, but he had offers from Pitt, Louisville, Syracuse, and Boston College. His final decision was between UCF and Pitt, and he chose the good guys. He's listed as a TE.

Kid skyrocketed up the recruiting charts this spring....2 way star (most likely LB at the college level) has some great instincts.
NJ is very poorly rated unless you're a recruit with a ton of Penn State, Alabama, Michigan level offers. Our incoming DE was #2 in the state of NJ in sacks and top 20 nationally and was a 2* recruit pretty much until signing day. He ended up getting last minute offers from Vandy and Rutgers and then got bumped up to a 3*.

could be a size thing
tyus bowser a recruit of ours from 2 years ago led all texas in sacks was rated a low 3star because he was "small"
as a true freshman and a backup led our dline in sacks last year.

6'4 230. Not exactly undersized for HS. He didn't have an NFL ready body or anything, but he wasn't one of those 5'10 200 tackling machines. He actually bulked up to 250-255 on his own with his trainer, so he will be coming to Temple college ready. Funny thing is, the guy who was just ahead of him as the state's sack leader, Ohio State signee Darius Slade is 6'5 237. Not really much bigger, but he was a 3* because of his offer list.

I really don't value stars, as they're subjective and mostly stupid, but what service are you getting these figures from?
Rivals has Cincy's class with four 3-stars, three players unrated, and the rest as 2-stars.
247 Sports
they have an article about recent surprise classes and UC is on the list with a current class ranking of #29 nationally right now
I think the most fair ratings are the 24/7 composites, which have UC at 13 three stars and 2 two stars. That's still a great recruiting class and top 40 right now.
For the most part, there is pretty good parity among the league, though its not surprising that the top 5 teams in the league are pulling in the top 5 recruiting classes.
