FIU Sand Volleyball Earns No. 5 Seed for Nationals

Quote:LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 21, 2014) - The FIU sand volleyball team will make its first trip to the Collegiate Sand Volleyball National Championship, the AVCA National Championship Selection Committee announced late Monday.

The Panthers captured the No. 5 seed and will join No. 1 Southern California, No. 2 Pepperdine, No. 3 Florida State, No. 4 Hawaii and No. 6 Stetson in Gulf Shores, Ala., from May 2-4. FIU is an impressive 14-2 in dual action this season.

"We are ecstatic about being invited to nationals and getting a fifth place seeding,” said Assistant Athletic Director and Head Coach Rita Buck-Crockett. “Our team and coaches have worked extremely hard to bring FIU to the forefront of Collegiate Sand Volleyball. We intend to represent and to continue to be a contender in this awesome sport during this championship and for years to come.”

The Panthers will open the tournament against Hawaii at 10 a.m. ET on Friday.

Just a few years ago utep had that shim that transferred from TCU but on the same team had some European bikini model that was smoking.

But you do know that Claudia is an exception rather than the rule. It would be wonderful with Claudia look a likes in sand volleyball unis but then you have to put up with the OTHERS.
