Would CUSA put the baseball tournament in El Paso?
Now that El Paso has a 188 million dollar state of the art stadium, Would CUSA consider a postseason tournament there?

Why would they do that? Having an expensive or cheap ballpark makes no difference when the host school lacks a baseball program. When is the Big XII hosting their baseball tournament in Des Moines? Or the Pac-12 at Denver's Coor Field?

Why not. It's a neutral city because UTEP doesn't have baseball.

That's not a good thing. Need a local team to draw a little bit of interest.

It's idiotic because of the distance and the fan support would be dismal. One thing is to have the basketball tournament in El Paso and another having the baseball tournament just for the sake of it.

Only schools that have good baseball attendance are USM and Rice. Just switch it between the two every year.

I disagree. El Paso typically led the league in double A ball and will likely be in 2nd or 3rd in the PCL league this year.

College baseball doesn't have fireworks, speed pitch, and free hot dog night.

How many people would make it for a Southern Miss vs FAU matchup? Or UTSA vs Louisiana Tech or Rice vs Marshall? 200 perhaps?

It would have to if no one had any "dogs in the fight"

I was going to stay out of this thread because I am well aware of Fitbud's agenda. That being said, it is interesting the difference in opinion regarding attendance from the home team. In basketball, a lot of people said it didn't matter. A neutral court was more important (said my some).

I noticed the same thing. But in this case, the neutral location argument goes out the window because of geography. The closest school is in San Antonio which is like 500 miles away.

Hell, might as well consider Marlins Park. Give people a reason to go to Miami.

Good point. Did anyone notice the La Tech team seemed to be in awe when looking over the crowd, facilities, layout, etc when playing at USM last week end. If I remember correctly the crowd on Fri was about 2500, Sat was 3500, and Sun some 2800, each game played while students were on break. That compares to 3-400 that shows up at Tech. There is a HUGE gap in some of the cbelt programs.
