wku battling budget woes, cuts men's tennis

Interesting tidbit gleaned from the WKU release.

They listed 9 other schools that have dropped one or more sports recently.

Five of the nine have had some sort of realignment move. A 6th, Cincinnati is in a league that was so changed by realignment that it changed its name.

More likely a short-term cash flow issue with the collision of state budget issues and paying the entry fee.

Rutgers had pour an added $20 million out of general revenue over to athletics (for a grand total of $47 million) because they aren't getting Big East money and B1G money hasn't started yet.

come on guys, can't we be civil during the summer months?

WKU will still enter C-USA tied with the most sports offered at 18.If cost of attendance--"stipend" is approved look for women's tennis (at WKU) to be cut.Womens tennis is a "headcount" sport and would help reduce costs on more than one front(as long as Title IX obligations are fulfilled).
