Absolutely a troll move. Shame, John45345.

Well, the MWC ("MWAC, heh heh heh") isn't really trying to get into the "big leagues" anymore. The AAC is.

uconn fans ==> because they don't have a chance at the acc/b10

ecu ===> same reason

houston ==> because i talk positively about rice

if i posted this in the AAC thread it would be trolling, instead i posted it here to have a discussion how the bottom 5 aac schools continue to hold the aac down. you guys respond wih crap like:

There are also only 3.5 worthwhile programs for UCONN to play in the ACC.

Yet there was no mention of the bolded part in your original post. Instead, it was just a shot at the conference.

oh yeah ur right. waiting to say that until the 9th total post of this thread is way outta line.

More like backtracking after people called you out for your trolling.

yeah ==> i was backtracking by bringing up a talking point that i have used long before this thread in response to a comment made along the same bluepoint

are you intentionally this stupid or are you just trying to annoy me?

RE: Checkmate AAC
I think conference challenges are WORTHLESS -- it's just a tv ploy to get try and make some OOC games draw some excitement from the fan bases. There isn't even always a benefit to SOS with a conference challenge, especially if you get aligned with a bottom feeder from another conference. Increasing conference schedules and cross collaboration are killing more regional rivalry opportunities - I think schools should be responsible for their entire OOC not TV.

troll scale of "checkmate AAC" (1) ==> very minor

There are also only 3.5 worthwhile programs for UCONN to play in the ACC. ==> i give that a troll scale of (9.5) ==> targeted malice while providing no legitimate discussion.

Fans can look forward to two mega-matchups in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge on Dec. 5, with Texas traveling to face Kentucky and Florida on the road at Kansas.

The pairings were announced Wednesday afternoon. The 2014 SEC/Big 12 Challenge will air on the ESPN family of networks from Dec. 3 to Dec. 6.

AAC is out of options for a BB conference vs conference series. (i doubt the pac has an interest)

we are out of options...too bad the B10 didn't play the Big East when the Big East was the Big East. We would have bombed them. Now they play the Big East, a watered down shell of itself. Oh well....the B10 is smart, they never put themselves in harms way.

considering how lopsided the acc challenge was for the big east challenge would of been an unnecessary embarrassment on top of their football embarrassments.

RE: Checkmate AAC
I'll be the first to admit that ECU has historically had an abysmal hoops program. If our basketball history isn't at the bottom of the AAC then there are a couple of stinky programs. However, it should be noted that we are just now begging to "try." Other teams are making even larger investments than we are. If we can have a decent FB program I see no reason that basketball will not grow if we continue our investment. It will take time SMU is the perfect model of building an interesting program. They've got people from all over the country talking. Past presidents and current nba, nfl and celebrities attended their games. They've drawn OOC interest with 4 of the P5.

Don't get me wrong, that's only one more interesting program. But with continued investment I can see the bottom rising. This conf challenge is no surprise to most.

It's hilarious watching a Syracuse fan try and smack talk a UConn fan about basketball. That would be like a Texas Tech fan trash talking a Texas fan about football.

SMU alone should be enough proof that any AAC program that is committed to building their BB program can find success in this conference.

joining a BB conference like the AAC is a terrific opportunity for a historically weak BB program, but as long as the AAC can build tremendous BB exposure they can be a nice successor conference to the old big east. problem is that by not having a conference challenge they are taking a step back in this area.

it's hilarious that someone thinks tech-texas is the proper comparison between uconn-cuse.

people get ticked at me because i call things as i see them.

comments like these by someone trying to act like cuse isn't even a decent program should give an inside look as to how removed from reality AAC fans are.

Maybe an AAC/A-10 challenge with both leagues' top 5? Cincy, Memphis, UConn, SMU, TBA vs. VCU, Dayton, G. Wash., UMass, TBA? Cincy-VCU is already happening.

Cuse is a very good basketball program, just not on UConn's level. I'm just telling you how it is and calling it like I see it.

cuse & uconn have different types of stats to point to. you can't say that cuse is as good as uconn, but at the same time you can't say that uconn blows away cuse in every stat.

cuse is a top 10 program, at worst you can't put cuse any lower than 12th. so the tech comparison is 100% unwarranted and more an insult than anything. that is like saying georgia or nebraska have football programs comparable to colorado basketball

no you were the dumbshit that compared syracuse basketball to texas tech football

when your "calling it as i see it" is totally wrong and anyone who knows a thing about BB knows that statement is wrong ==> ya can't pull that line.

when was the last time a "call it as i see it" was anywhere close to being as disputable as that?

he compared a top 10 BB program as equivalent to a top 30-40 program in football

Pick whatever teams you want, all I'm saying is Syracuse is inferior to Connecticut on the court. And I just googled it and found out UConn leads the all-time football series too.

Can somebody tell me again why Syracuse is in the ACC instead of UConn?
