PAC already got the better mainland school for Pacific Islander culture.

If and when the Big12 expands, I expect to see BYU and UC asked to join.

Cincinnati has the #34 TV market, expands the recruiting base to Ohio and is a natural rival for WVU.

BYU has a national fanbase and anchors the western border.

The other two teams (if the Big12 goes to 14) are a toss-up.

Wait until you fire Chow. Going back to the spread after all your dual threat QB's have transferred out and been replaced by fullbacks is not fun.

You are more than welcome to have Junifer Jones back. . . In fact the sooner the better.

UC for sure. BYU maybe, but I wouldn't rule out USF to get into Florida instead. Austin, Texas is actually 100 miles closer to Tampa (937 miles) than Provo (1,037 miles).

Seriously???

Uhhh .... not sure if this is a joke or not ....

I'll answer just in case ---
PAC has 14 schools in it.
Big Ten has 14 schools in it.
SEC has 14 schools in it.
ACC has 14 (and ND for all sports).

Big XII has 10 schools in it.

Which conference of the above 5 (where all the above 5 conferences make $h!ttons of money annually) has room to grow??

And you wonder why "mid major" programs have a woody for the Big XII?

.

Why on earth do you think that the ultimate goal is to add more schools? A pie split ten ways renders bigger pieces than a pie split 14 ways.

I guess we should be discussing the Big XII's RETRACTION plans then. Iowa State should probably be worried. Conference revenues split 9 ways means more money for the remaining 9 than splitting it 10 ways. I guess the big XII is just waiting on a retraction partner. Texas Tech -- Kansas State -- Kansas -- TCU .... who'll step up and suck the most ...

Meanwhile ... the rest of the college power conferences have GROWN. Under the theory that expanding it's base of members, ADDS value to their conference overall ... including it's revenue, which means more money for it's members.

Yeah ... they're all CRAZY.

NIU has two very big issues.

1- One of the smallest budget and support levels of any potential addition. Raises questions about competitive ability in facilities, recruiting, & hiring/firing/buyouts.

2- Not much evidence that they deliver strong ratings in Chicago. Do you have any recent ratings in Chicago to post that could show strong ratings? I'm looking for games other than the Orange Bowl which is a unique game.

I would add a 3 issue

3) the big 10 would declare war on the big 12 if they invited NIU, invites in the mail to KU and OU.

UCF to get into Florida (more potential at this point) and Boise to pair with BYU.
