Currently, every team in the ACC and SEC is only playing most of the opposite division teams (other than their cross division rival) every 6 years in all and every 12 years at home. This "roommate switch" idea, in which you switch divisions every year, would guarantee every team would play every other team in the conference at least once per 2 years, even if the ACC and SEC stay at 8 conference games. Yes, this article only talks about this idea for the SEC but the ACC could do the exact same thing. I don't know why not to adopt this idea. http://theroommateswitch.wordpress.com/
