Predictions for this week
UofL at Rutgers - this is a tough one. It could go either way.

I'm going to go with the home team. It's going to be loud. They have a tough defense and a strong running game. Rutgers 30 UofL 28

UC at WVU - My heart says Bearcats but my head says WVU 28-17.

Syracuse at USF - USF looked strong last week and they are at home. USF 27-14.

Pitt at UConn - I think this will be closer than some expect. UConn is struggling but they will make a game of this. Pitt 24-20.

Louisville@Rutgers (Louisville)
Cincinnati@West Virginia (WVU)
Syracuse@South Florida (USF)
Pittsburgh@Connecticut (Pitt)

I'm not going to bother with the scores, although I don't believe the WVU game will be close. Pitt should dominate UConn too, but the other games will most likely be fairly close. Unless, of course, Louisville goes off on another offensive explosion.

The thing that has me feeling good about the Rutgers game is "no running quarterback". Teams like that are very very effective against Louisville. We've never had to much trouble facing teams with drop back qb's because I line backers are great at rushing the passers. I think WVU gets there frustration out on UC this game. Any other time I would give UC a slight chance, but WVU is coming off that loss and they actually played well offensively. I just think that running game is to much for UC to handle. IT could get ugly.

Louisville@Rutgers I'm big on homefield advantage....some people have an even larger advantage at home but everyone benefits from it. If the game is close, Rutgers wins. If Louisville can get off to a fast start I believe Rutgers looses. I've been predicting Rutgers all year but am still pulling for my cards. If Louisville wins, I'll consider it an upset but the national media will either say they didn't win big enough or Rutgers wasn't really any good to begin with.

Cincinnati@West Virginia At WVU....WVU 38/Cincy 14
Syracuse@South Florida South Florida 28/Syracuse 13
Pittsburgh@Connecticut Pitt 17/UConn 14

Louisville 8-1
WVU 8-1
Rutgers 8-1

Actually we do have a running quarterback as our backup and don't be surprised to see him for a series or two to make things interesting. Hes actually quite good but Teel in the long run proves to have the best arm.

UoL and WVU in close ones. Of course, i really want the UoL to lose for a shot at co BE-championship.

Syracuse over USF and

UConn upsets Pitt

Question for UoL fans - Do you think your team will come out on fire tonight? They put a lot of stock for a year into last weeks game. Just curious about your thoughts.

Tigeer with the way the national media has just ripped our team apart, I truly believe they will come out blazing. Brohm loves the big stage he always plays his best in big games. He is finally healthy and our offense has finally found its rhythm again. Plus there was an article in the local paper talking about how they remember looking past S.Florida last year and they know they can't afford a let down.

I think the Defense is more fired up than the offensive unit. They have taking the biggest pounding by the media. We still have something to prove as well, so I doubt you see any back tracking tonight. I think for once again Petrino will get aggressive offensively like he did against WVU. The game still worries me, but I'm confident in saying that we will bring it tonight. If this team wants to play in Arizona they are going to have to bring it. Its alot on the line and I feel they will silence a few critics tonight.

EXACTLY. Gene Wojo from ESPN is probably the biggest BE detractor right now. They had him and Mark May on Outside the Lines this afternoon. Bob Ley asked if tonight would be a good win for Louisville. He basically said no, because while he thinks UofL wins, Rutgers will be quote "exposed" as WVU was quote "exposed". His premise is basically...UofL could win by 3, and prove they aren't legit, or they could win by 21, proving RU is a fraud and its not a great win for UofL.

For people like him, his mind is long made up and he flat out said stated prior to the game his "proof" that UofL deserves nothing, no matter whether they won by 3 or 103.

Louisville@Rutgers (Louisville) UL 37 RU 21 - Cards will crush RU
Cincinnati@West Virginia (WVU) WVU 41 UC 14 - Pissed off WVU will roll UC
Syracuse@South Florida (USF) USF 31 SU 20 - USF wins at home
Pittsburgh@Connecticut (Pitt) UCONN 21 Pitt 14 - UCONN wins at home.

Everyone is underestimating UCONN but the D should hold Pitt's O and UCONN will score just enough points.

I don't think The Ville will be flat.
1. They have had most of the national media saying they don't deserve to be where they are.
2. They are playing a team that is 9-0 and #15 in the nation.
3. The USF debacle is still fresh in their memory.
4. They have too much to play for (National Championship)
5. The "O" finally showed signs of life.
