Yes it is. But other codes of football are played on similar fields and are also enjoyable. Hell, through on Gaelic and I'll watch it. Interestingly enough Canadian is the only one that I don't really like.

I would've never thought that I'd be defending a sport that I only watch once a weekend.

You should google George Carlin's take on the difference between baseball and football.
