RE: Best receiving corps in the AAC?
Nearly every AAC preview I see says UCF has the best receiving corps in the AAC and some even say its a top 10 receiving corps out of everyone.
There shouldn't be any doubt that UCF has the best receiving corps. The doubt should lay in whether our QB can get the ball to them.

SportingNews preseason magazine says ECU has the best.
There is most certainly doubt to your claim.

So what are you saying? Perhaps if he hadn't been a true freshman last year and had some experience he catches 90%+ of the balls thrown at him?

Not 90%+, but probably more than 62%. It was just a thought.

Exactly. How many high schools have a $1B endowment and 50 academic programs that rank in the Top 50 in the country?

These polls are stupid. It's just all homers voting for their own team. It's Houston or ECU until proven otherwise.

The other thing that occurred to me is simply this:
"Cougar King" is a well-known troll who has taken shots on the Cincinnati forum. Why did I "neg" him on what might be a simple typo (that has been corrected...THANK YOU)? Because it fits a wider pattern of behavior. Actually, I would not have been surprised if he had "forgotten" to put UC on his little poll in the first place, so maybe I should actually commend him for at least getting the conference membership correctly.
I will also note that I, for one, have NEVER referred to anyone as "[school mascot] High." It's a stupid way of trolling someone and I usually try and ignore it.

And why would his percentage go down? Really. He just caught 82% of the passes thrown at him as a true freshman. You'd assume after more than a summer practice period he had last year, he'd have more of a grasp of the offense and do better than as a true freshman. Either that or they throw more down the field to him and it drops a little. He averaged over 10 yards a catch too. It wasn't like he was catching 5 yard passes.

RE: Best receiving corps in the AAC?
It'd be good to create this poll with the stipulation that voters can't vote for their own team. This way, we really see who's putting their eggs in which basket and we avoid obvious homer picks where fans don't actually know and are just picking their team.
There's no doubt this league has a lot of gifted receivers like Greenberry and Hardy. The poll, however, asks for the best RECEIVING CORPS, and in that sense, there's not a corps in the AAC as solid and deep as UCF's. The numbers speak for themselves.

You're misunderstanding me. When I said true freshman, I meant our QB -- John O'Korn. All I meant was that Greenberry's percentages will probably go up as O'Korn gets more experience.

RE: Best receiving corps in the AAC?
We're nowhere close this year, but I have a feeling we will be up there next year.
Keith Kirkwood, 6'3 210 (Hawaii transfer)
TE Colin Thompson 6'4 250 (Florida transfer)
WR/TE Kip Patton 6'5 230
Matt Eaton, 6'4 200
Khalif Herbin 5'7 170
John Christopher 5'10 185
Ventell Bryant 6'3 180
Brodrick Yancy 5'11 185
Sam Benjamin 6'0 200
Derrek Thomas 6'4 190
PJ Walker is going to have a lot of options.

And those numbers are put up from a mostly-run-oriented offense, too.

Greenberry and Hardy are the best, but in terms of depth;quality and quantity it has to be UCF. Although it probably wont be shown as much with the new qb, opposed to passing systems of ecu and uh and their qbs

Depth, sorry it isn't close, ECU has 18-20 WR's on the roster and then 5-6 RB's. Of that we will play in rotations of 14-15 WR's and 3-4 RB's. Carden on average completes passes to 8-11 different guys each game.
