I would trade Dom for Johnson hands down and that's no disrespect to Big Dom who I do believe has the physical tools to be very good if he could only get it together between the ears but Josh knows that the team's most glaring need is an experienced PG first and foremost and he did that in getting Kedren. He also basically replaced Big Dom with a more experienced PF in Calvin Godfrey who is a physical presence that's really good at rebounding. I know that Josh is growing as a coach but if you were to consider him as a GM of a team, he seems to pretty good at moving pieces around and finding steals somehow, someway. He may not get the home run players all the time that other big teams covet but he sure does appear to be either lucky or has a good ear to what's going on with other teams

I wouldn't necessarily call them steals. But he's good at convincing other program's castoffs to come rebuild their image and make amends at Memphis.

He's like Jesus in a sense.

When is a teams leading scorer a castoff?

That's called misinterpretation based on incomplete data.

Tell it to the CA

You don't think Stallins would throw a player under the bus if he found out he was transferring?

Hah. I thought we were focused on the OP and Dom. I was talking about our Coach...how he didn't tell Dom he couldn't come back to the team.

Who cares what Stallings did or said. Kedren is ours. They lose.

So we now have what, 7 guards? Say what you will but bigs are much more difficult to come by than guards. Our primary problem has been not enough bigs to matchup with good frontcourts.

Maybe this season will be different but I sense a slight shift to small ball again.

Seriously? We basically exchange a big in Godfrey for a big in Big Dom and then we got a PG in Johnson for a G/F in Wilson. Not a lot of difference than it was before other than more experience in the two coming here

I don’t remember Wilson playing any guard last season unless you consider Chris’ 3 spot a guard position.

With Johnson we now have 4 guards with the primary attribute of scoring. Josh has said all summer we must play inside-out to get the most out of the frontcourt so who is going to feed them the ball? Over the 4 game Canadian exhibition Pookie & Markel had 11 assists each and Magee 10. Yesterday Pookie was the leading scorer but only had 1 assist. IMHO we have never been patient enough to make the good entry pass.

This is what happened last season with our bigs getting fed and producing one game and the next game they rarely touched the ball. A team can’t play consistent if all players are not on the same page as to the game plan.

So I don’t know. Today’s era Tiger’s teams have only played inside-out when they wanted to. This team will have to do it more than in spots before I can say they are actually doing it.

Real story?

A guy not quite good enough to play for the Tigers is being targeted by utk.

And/or

problem player is run off by coach who refuses to throw player under the bus after multiple issues.

Both are true, which one is the real story you want to hear?

I like the one about the replacement that is just as crazy doe. Tell that one.
