Wk3- Pitt@FIU, SoMiss @ Ala, UTSA @ Oklahoma St, Rice @ A&M
Wk4- Lville @ FIU
Wk5- UTEP @ Kansas St, La Tech @ Auburn
Wk6- UNT @ Indiana
Wk7- ODU @ Vandy
Wk9- UAB @ Arkansas

I would say the Indiana and Vandy games are probably your best chances to get a P5 win this year, the rest look out of reach.

The biggest OOC games for CUSA next will be Marshall and FAU.

lol...thx!

thanks, I missed that. and FIFY

As nice as it is to see some love from NBC... unfortunately for us, it doesn't appear to have made television... Chris and Kevin of CFT on NBCSports.com are online bloggers and writers, not part of the NBCSN on-air staff for more people to see it and it be considered a mainstream mention. If everyone keeps delivering though - then I'm sure we'll see more Marshall and CUSA mentions - just gotta keep winning!

Re: C-USA making case as best G5 conference
I was listening to a college sports show on Sirius radio the day before yesterday and they were talking about how impressive CUSA has been and how we have taken the reigns as the best non power 5 football conference in the country. They went on and talked about all the G5 conferences and made mention that they thought the American made a mistake in adding to many private schools. As a result, CUSA benefited from it.

This one makes sooooo much sense. I mean who wouldn't agree that after ULL got hammered at home by LTU, ULL would be ranked 6th ant LTU not ranked at all. God that's stupid. 03-banghead

Those are last week's poll results. What you have posted is last week's standings with last Saturday's scores so that the voters can have all the results without having to search all over creation. I know because I voted earlier this afternoon. The voting deadline is always Wed. at midnight, and the poll is published on Thursday. Relax!

RE: C-USA making case as best G5 conference
For MinerInWisconsin, and anyone else interested. After last week's game where LTU handed it to ULL in Lafayette the people have spoken. LTU rose 24 places in the poll going from 40 to 16 while ULL dropped 15 spots from 6 down to 21.

I actually love this poll because it was created by and administered by a G5 fan and a FCS fan, with much help from others (from what I understand.) The voters are all members of FBS fanbases. This poll truly is for us and is IMO genuinely reflective of the thoughts of we fans who are generally overlooked and drowned out. I thank all those who created and run this poll, and also my fellow voters.

CUSA Crushing G5 Competition
Found this stat pretty impressive....not only is CUSA undefeated against preseason favorites of fellow G5 members (MWC, Mac, Sunbelt, American) we have outscored them a whopping 298 to 125. I think that number really speaks volumes of just how good CUSA is this year. Lets keep the ball rolling and get some more wins this weekend.

Seems like alot of the weaker teams have been demoated to the AAC in favor of some strong upgraded programs...

Ironically it does seem that way. I was listening to a sports talk show the other day and they were talking how CUSA has already leap frogged the American conference in football because they thought the American took on to many private schools. There thought was that taking on all the privates hurt the Anerican and will only stregthen CUSA even more going forward. Never really thought about it like that but it does make sense.

Besides these, what were the games vs the AAC?

UTSA vs Houston - UTSA is legitimately better than Houston IMHO. I wasn't too shocked by that one. Credit due here.
UNT vs SMU - SMU is freaking horrible. Pretty bad match up there.

We tried to play Memphis but they want no part of a home and home so that is at least one less crushing defeat.

I agree that UTSA is pretty good but so is North Texas. They have been on the rise since the middle part of last year. FAU hosts Tulsa this week (I think will be a win for FAU) and I think UTSA upsets Okie State. I expect ODU to win against Mac foe Eastern Michigan and I think we will beat Ohio to keep the undefeated G5 streak going.

So the real question is "how good is Houston"? This is the program that developed the term "Coogin' It" which describes an unexplainable loss, usually in spectacular fashion, that ruins an otherwise stellar season. The 2014 Coogin' It moment might have taken place on August 29.

If Houston plays well tonight against BYU, and ends the year at or near the top of the AAC, that only strengthens the C-USA argument that we are indeed, crushing the G-5 competition.

If Houston looks just as bad as Texas against BYU, and struggles to a mid-pack finish in the AAC, we may come around to the theory that this was not a particularly good win for C-USA.

I'm hoping Houston wins or at least plays a tight game tonight with BYU. If that happens, CUSA further solidifies its strength over the others.
