Enjoy the free Gator Bowl win WV
... you shouldn't have to work too hard for it. GT is on the verge of total collapse.

- Every GT fan I know won't be going to the Gator unless Taylor Bennet is announced to start the game. No way there's more than 20K GT fans. Could very well be 10K or lower.
- Reggie Ball's numbers the last two games? 15-51 (29%) 171 yds 0 TDs 4 INTs 1 fumble
- The team is on the verge of mutiny. Several key defensive players quoted by media as being very unhappy with the offense. Who could blame them?
- "I don't know if I can get these guys up for the bowl game" - Chan Gailey, post-game
- Our star RB screaming to get carries late in game, has to be calmed down by assistant coaches. He gets 1 4th Qtr carry despite being the ACC's leading rusher.
- CFN ripped Chan a new a**hole: http://cfn.scout.com/2/596809.html
- Quote of the Day: Our coaches blew this one, big time. Grobe (WF-HC) and Tenuta (GT-DC) were playing chess. Nix (GT-OC) was playing checkers. And Chan (GT-HC), well, he was just kind of drooling on the playing board.

Something I can't verify right now, but have read tonight:

The ACC assured the Gator if they took Tech as the runner-up, the ACC will pay the bowl the difference for all of the tickets they are expecting Tech not to sell. I don't remember to last season if there was a minimum that UofL and V Tech had to buy, but it seems the Gator was promised something above and beyond normal.

It should be a good game...always enjoy playing a good team with good tradition like Ga Tech...I'm just excited that our team will finally be healthy! We haven't been healthy since the UL game

Given WVU's history in the Gator Bowl, been to two of them myelf, I wouldn't bank on a loss by your Jackets just yet. Although I feel good about the Mountaineers chances this time.

Georgia Tech would be a good team if they had a QB. But I think WVU would win even if they had a QB. By the time the Gator Bowl is played all the bumps and bruises should be pretty much healed on the Mountaineers.

You kiddin? The only pieces we're missing are additional depth and a QB. If we could sneak Joe Hamilton into Reggie's uni -- we're probably playing in Glendale, AZ.

I'm politely requesting you stop using this acronym. Bring out your All Cash Conference, your All Crybaby Conference, whatever, those I'll have no problem with. But given how the term Anti-Christ has been used in other circles in social history I find this extremely offensive. You've used this at least 3 times as if you have a serious issues with what is essentially just sporting entertainment. Please, enough with the inhumane, religious angle.

Like all bowl contracts the conference/school is on the hook for a specific number of tickets. Whatever doesn't sell is, cost wise, swallowed by the school.

Tech will likely sell the 10-13k required of the Bowl, but it will take time (post-Wake mourning period) and won't be much more than that. Hopefully the weather will be more pleasant as well, and the atmosphere over a holiday should be better still. If I can make it I look forward to meeting more Mountaineer fans, among the best in the business.

I'm already on the hook for calling it 28-10 WVU. GTS is correct is claiming Tech's QB is essentially the picture of futility. Take away the games against the weaker opponents and Tech's offense is anemic, largely due to Reggie's latent immaturity and lack of honed skills. Sadly, there's no way Gailey doesn't at least start the 4th year senior and methinks Bennett will only see the field is the outcome is already clear. I'm just praying the team represents the school well and makes the game entertaining. Oh I can see scenarios with Tech winning and will be rooting for them like the dickens, but seeing as we're almost all engineers of some sort we're too good with numbers to know better than to hope against hope. ;-)
