It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me--
Last week was called a "White Out" even though (a) it was a night game (so no real heat worries), and (b) Toledo, as the road team would wear white. Why was it not a "Black out" game? I dunno... But white would have seemed to help Toledo.

Now this is a "Ring of Red" game... Miami's colors are red. Why is this one not the "White Out"? (At least it's a day game...)

Obviously, I do not get paid the big bucks for this, but I am puzzled. Oh well.

Whiteout is always going to be early when it would normally be hot out. They probably scheduled this is as the white out game before the game time was announced. You have to inform the other team very early if you are going to wear something other than your normal home jersey.

Both of these games kick at the same time, so not sure why this game would make more sense than the Toledo game.

Fair enough.

The White Out made no sense since white should not be worn after labor day north of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Why Red when we are playing The Redskins?

Yes we wore white and will wear red but does not the Athletic Department have any sense of decorum?

Why does red matter, it is about being uniform, all fans wear the same color. the team is wearing all red and cryami probably white. uc's main colors and red and black.

I have UC golf, tee, and workout shirts in black, white, grey, but no red. I'll be there but not going to buy a red shirt to fit in. Especially not for Miami at PBS. We aren't Oklahoma. I'll wear what I want.

I wish we'd wear black every game, but that's just me.

As if anyone needed proof, this thread shows that you just can't please everybody.

I'm a big believer in personal freedom so people can indeed wear whatever they want. I also like the opportunity to present a unified image of our fanbase to a national TV audience and the white, red and black themed games have really achieved that.

The first few first times UC tried red or white, participation was spotty at best. It was great fun walking into PBS last Friday night in a sea of white. I think it energizes the team and it sells more merchandise which is revenue for UC. Best of all was what I didn't see: people showing up in Bengals jerseys, OSU or Notre Dame gear for a UC game. Watch some G5 games on TV and notice how often those fans are wearing gear from their favorite "major" schools; not their own.

Requesting that fans wear a particular color for one game to show unity. Oh the tyranny
