It's a ****** way to end the game but if the rule wasn't there teams would "fumble" it into the endzone for a score or at worst have it on the 2 yd line.
Agreed. It's a horrible rule.
Wait i think we misunderstood each other. The rule has to be there because teams would intentionally fumble it into the endzone for a score or if it wasn't that way have it on the 1 or 2 yd line. You would see teams taking advantage of it if it was that way.
Except anywhere else on the field a fumble forward that goes out of bounds just goes back to the spot of the fumble. Why should the end zones be different?
I guess the same reason why a tackle for loss in the end zone is a safety versus not at any other point of the field. Or a penalty in the end zone is also a safety while anywhere else it is not.

You're right, next year was supposed to be our rebuilding year. Our offense has regressed far more than expected. We're very lucky to get this win
You guys lost your star QB, who went #3 in the draft, and is now starting in the NFL.
I think a lot of your fans underestimated the loss that would be.
If UCF had Holman as QB last year instead of Bortles, they would have been a mid-pack AAC team. Underestimated is an understatement.
And if Bortles stayed a year, we'd like be 3-1 and Houston would have been routed.
Heck, you guys might be undefeated if you still had Bortles, that dude is one hell of a QB.

Bortles is definitely missed but there are way too many mistakes to be undefeated even with Bortles. I like what I see with Holman so far. I hope he continues to improve at the speed Bortles did. I hope he watches lots of game tapes with Bortles at UCF and even more now in the NFL. He improved his footwork substantially.
C'mon now... Luck played a huge roll here and you all know it.
Luck and some good old conservative, try to run the clock out O'Leary ball...
Lucky 4 times in a row versus Houston huh... that's some luck
5-1 All-Time record
I never said anything about the other close games... I'm talking about this particular game you all luckily won tonight.
There's very little luck involved in not allowing a touchdown on the road. You guys just didn't get it done offensively.
The play at the end was one of those you could view as lucky if you want to, but our safety hit his arm to knock the ball out. He didn't just drop it, which would have definitely been lucky.
Houston is a solid program. O'Korn has hit sophomore slump, happened to Godfrey so we know how that goes. Best of luck to you guys the rest of the season.
We have the talent. We have an offense coordinator that is a joke. How do you lose when you only give up TEN first downs for the entire game. Our OC has literally single handedly destroyed this season.
UCF has lots of speed and quality in their line up. They will be one to watch all year. We, on the other hand, we be a joke as long as Bush is prowling the sidelines.

I too feel your pain, Attackcoog... I think we should get rid of everyone but our DC.

I think Holman can be really good... and perhaps one of the best in college football.
That said, it's unfair to measure anyone by the Bortles standard. Bortles is the best of the best. His athleticism and skills at his size is freakish, which is why he's a Top 5 draft pick.
I thought neither team looked great and UCF got a very lucky win. Why the QB didn't just run out of bounds on the two and stop the clock, I can't understand.

He had everyone beat. If he takes the hit and holds onto the ball, we win. Just unfortunate/unlucky.

Because he thought he could get in on that play and had to go for it. Remember we held them without points in the first quarter when they got inside the 5.

That was more on the retarded OC calling two pass plays from the 1. Had JOK gotten under center, and attempted to fall forward 4 times in a row, I can't imagine he wouldn't of gotten in.
Just got home from work but holy ****, what a way to lose the game. I was pulling for UH to win mostly because I feel UH would coog it later in the season. But now ECU will most likely have to worry with UCF the rest of the season. Really hoping UCF get the L, but a well deserved hard fought win.
