RE: Condi Rice is tracking Marshall for the CFP committee
Championship Week Update

32) Marshall (131)
33) Boise State (69)
77) Northern Illinois (128)

MW Mountain (67.56)
CUSA East (61.05)
MAC West (60.33)

-Marshall despite a loss remains ranked high in the Sagarins. A more accurate way to judge a school's viability for an access bowl is probably to add the sagarin rank and the SOS rank and divide by 2. When you do that Marshall falls significantly below Boise State.

-Boise State is ranked #22 in the CFP poll this week, which mirrors their ranking in the media polls at 10-2. For this reason they are a definite favorite for the autobid should they win their championship game.

-Northern Illinois still has a chance. All the AAC schools have 3 losses and the year end sagarin rating of the AAC is 60.14. Memphis has an SOS of 124 with 3 losses. NIU at 11-2 will be in over an AAC school.

Updated chances at an autobid

Boise State 85%
Marshall 12%
Northern Illinois 3%

Boise should have no problem with Fresno at home with the way they have been playing lately. Tradition favors Boise heavily here. They have a chance to once again make a statement in a major bowl game.

haven't you learned yet that # of losses doesn't matter here? 3 vs 2 is not that big of a deal at all.

It does matter as I've explained all fall that for all intents and puposes NYD 6 record for a school, P5 included is 2 or less losses. Boise State at 10-2 has a record in line with an at-large 10-2 P5 selection. You start getting into 9-3 and 8-4 records and they just don't look the part.

The fact of the matter is Marshall has appeared in the Top 25 of the rankings. Memphis has not. If Marshall wins its championship game its going to be ahead of the pecking order of any AAC school. I'm sorry but that is the way it is. The AAC is worse than CUSA this year.

just looking in all of the computers- the AAC is ahead of CUSA in the computers.....

Marshall has ZERO % chance of making the G5 spot. ZERO. You don't realize how little chance that Marshall has of getting the spot.
