SANTA DID GET MY LETTER!!!!
WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Let freedom ring from the greasy halls of the Varsity. Let freedom ring from the prodigious Tech Tower. Let freedom ring from I-A's oldest and winningest football stadium. O God almighty let freedom ring!
Over his last two games, the GT defense held the opponent out of the endzone. We have the best WR in college football... arguably the best punter in college football... the best RB in the ACC... and a Top 15 defense nationally. However, Reggie Ball SINGLE HANDEDLY whiped all of this out, going over his last two games:
< 30% completion percentage
1 fumble, returned for a TD
5 INT
0 rushing or passing TD
Negative rushing yardage
A QB rating of something ridiculous like 22.8
I have seen both play, and I call tell you the differences:
1) Taylor Bennett has a very smooth release. It won't win any speed records, but it's poetry in motion. It's like he's throwing javalins out there. Each pass is effortless and a perfect spiral. Reggie, by contrast, lofts the ball way up in the air and, for the most part prays that gravity and wind will assist it making it at least close enough for Calvin Johnson to make an unhuman play for the catch.
2) Reggie is maybe 5'10" ... Taylor is over 6'3". Reggie has not been allowed to throw over the middle virtually at all since his sophmore year b/c he just loses linebackers WAY too easily. Taylor opens up everything between the hashes.
3) While normally Reggie is a viable threat to run the ball, since the Clemson game he has been gimpy and this threat has been literally eliminated. If anothing, GT is now more of a threat to run from the QB spot.
4) The fans now have a reason to go to Jax again. Hell, I JUST MAY GO!
5) The team now has a reason to be pumped up. The GT team smelt of mutiny.. the defense digusted with near flawless efforts wasted by Reggie, with Chan Gailey using that NFL QB mentality and refusing to put in anybody else for even one snap.
HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
