Congrats. Syracuse football mattered in the 1950's. It means as much today as the even better history that Yale, Army and Navy have than Syracuse.

A mediocre football program and a basketball program that plays like Tarzan in the regular season and Jane come March. God what did the ACC ever do without such a juggernaut for all those years.

If you were half as smart as you think you are you would know that Clemson was modeled after the Agricultural College of Mississippi (Mississippi State now) after it was made a requirement in Thomas Green Clemson's will.

Our athletic teams were named Tigers after Auburn because our first coach was Walter Riggs. He was an Auburn man, but it was his admiration of Princeton's teams that led to the Tigers moniker. Our colors are indeed from Auburn, as Riggs used his Auburn contacts to obtain old Auburn uniforms for the team. The legend is we use purple because the blue dye used at the time faded to a purple hue.

So it appears that once again you made something out to be much worse than it actually is. Maybe you should do some research about things before you run off at the mouth and make yourself to look the fool again.
