RE: UConn @ #18 ECU Thursday Night Throwdown Thread
I am pumped for tonight's game. I fully expect to see UConn lose, however I am glad that we finally get to play ECU in football. I was a big proponent of the old Big East adding ECU (it was a mistake that the Big East never added them years earlier).
Anyway, I have lots of respect for ECU football. ECU fans - please be merciful on us UConn fans tomorrow. I will, in turn, extend the same courtesy during basketball season! haha

Will you be at the game? How many UConn fans do you think might actually come?

I won't be at the game unfortunately. I have an 8 month old at home and the wife needs all the help she can get. However, I plan on going to the next game at ECU in two years, though.
I don't think many UConn fans will show mostly due to the fact that we are TERRIBLE this year and due to it being a Thursday night game. I think that the next time it is at Dowdy Ficklen on a Saturday, then you will see UConn fans show up in solid numbers (including myself).

“We know we don’t lose in the black jerseys because when we put on the black jerseys, we got to play another team, but we’re also going to a funeral,” junior cornerback Josh Hawkins said. “It’s a killer instinct when we put them on.”

I don't think this will be a cakewalk tonight, either.
I would not say we struggled with SMU…Jumped out to a big lead, took the foot off the gas and slept walked for a quarter but the game was never in doubt. We absolutely struggled with USF in the first half, came out in the 2nd half and dominated 21-0.
I think the guys will be jacked tonight and come out on fire…Can't wait for the game, headed to the stadium as soon as the Wife and kids get home.

I'm gonna enjoy this. They're the only remaining original member left. Time to pay the piper.
Pay the piper for what exactly?
I don;t want to speak for him, but I believe he is referring to not being invited to the BE and getting payback against the last original member.
He shouldn't blame the remaining Big East football schools like UConn, USF, and Cincy. He should blame the Big East Catholic basketball schools. They are the ones that blocked ECU. So, if you want to pay the piper, then get better in basketball and go beat St.John's or Providence.
