RE: CFB fans should hope FSU loses 1

They are rewarding TCU for scheduling a middle B1G team and punishing Baylor for an OOC schedule that would make even Bill Synder blush a few years ago.
So I think the message IS being sent: schedule at least one decent OOC game or else don't lose a game to anyone outside the Top 25.
"...an OOC schedule that would make even Bill Snyder blush....". As Larry the Cable Guy would say, "I don't care who you are, that's funny!".
Actually, Snyder has seemingly had a slight change of heart - they've actually started tending to mix in one tough OOC game per year (like this year's Auburn game). I do understand his rationale for his historic scheduling - not only were those games winnable, but getting those wins really did help turn around a long, deeply ingrained culture of losing football games in Manhattan. If you look at his conference results, for the most part he's done a pretty good job of winning the games he should win, as well as getting some wins against programs that have advantages over his. While his overall record is inflated by scheduling some OOC cupcakes, I still think he's done a remarkable job at a place that spit up and chewed out scores of coaches before his arrival. I sure hope KU can come up with a hire this time around that's as good of a fit for us as he's been for them - it's no fun having to wait for basketball season to start.
Speaking of which, last night was our first exhibition game - so basketball season has started!

FSU's schedule is fine
Florida, Notre Dame, Oklahoma State....not a single team in the land that would schedule that OOC
Louisville, Clemson, and Miami are good teams as well

Follow along with me here.
FSU--love them or hate them--has scheduled extremely well OOC. 11 P5 schools, 1 non-P5 school. They scheduled a big Indy, Big 12, and SEC school. You may choose to harp on the "The ACC Stinks" mantra...and I get that...but the fact is...they scheduled a challenging schedule.
I want the PSC to put FSU higher than every other 1-loss team, so the message can be sent. SCHEDULE UP!
Similarly, I'm hoping that MSU scheduling of Oregon doesn't penalize them if they are in the mix. That said, they only have 9 P5 games...like Auburn...and Alabama...and Mississippi State....and Baylor. FSU has 11!!!
SCHEDULE UP! (And I'm talking to my Nittany Lions as much as anyone else...even in the sanctions-depleted era we are currently experiencing...)
You can't be serious?
After I stripped the ACC out, there OOC has been the following the last two years:
Nevada
Bethune-Cookman
Idaho
The Citadel
Oklahoma State
Florida (I don't count Florida this season yet because they have not played yet and a rivalry game)
Note: counting ND as a conference game
My eyes tell me that is 2 G5 teams, 2 FCS teams, 1 B12 and a Rival.
What a meat grinder!
you can't just eliminate what you choose and don't choose.....Notre Dame doesn't count as an ACC game. It's OOC
Florida just beat Georgia.....
get over it

Only 2 top 25 teams in there after tonight. Overall it is a very average schedule.

The problem with judging conference schedules is that it leads to conclusions like having 4 SEC teams. This way of thinking is very subjective and susceptible to circular reasoning (SEC teams have a tough schedule because they play lots of SEC teams which must be tough because they play an SEC schedule...)
so I guess playing West Virginia, Wisconsin, Florida St, Clemson, Louisville is meaningless. SEC schedules a lot better than you think now. And you picked the only contending now western team with a bad OOC schedule. Alabama- West Virginia, Auburn- Kansas St(plus LSU beat Wisconsin).
SOS is the ENTIRE schedule, not just OOC. Miss St playing 4 teams in the top 20 is very strong. If FSU is lucky they would have 3.
If FSU has 3, the teams they're playing are overrated.
