$40 doctor visit - Wal-Mart's new everyday low price
Libs, these clinics aren't for the 1%. Still want to criticize Wal-Mart?

(Psssst - they don't take Obamacare)

Quote:NEW YORK (MarketWatch) — Wal-Mart Stores Inc. pushed down prices for some generic prescription drugs to just $4 eight years ago, setting a new industry standard. Now it is trying to do the same for seeing a doctor.

On Friday, a Walmart Care Clinic opened in Dalton, Ga., six months after Walmart U.S., the retailer’s WMT, +1.23% biggest unit, entered the business of providing primary health care. It now operates a dozen clinics in rural Texas, South Carolina and Georgia and has increased its target for openings this year to 17.

An office visit costs $40, which Walmart U.S. says is about half the industry standard, and just $4 for Walmart U.S. employees and family members with the company’s insurance. A pregnancy test costs just $3, and a cholesterol test $8. A typical retail clinic offers acute care only. But a Walmart Care Clinic also treats chronic conditions such as diabetes. (Walmart U.S. also leases space in its stores to 94 clinics owned by others that set their own pricing.)

That's better than the half that don't get in the same day.

The wave of the future.

Obamacare won't deliver health care.
So the private sector will comeup with alternatives.

When Richard Nixon gave us the 55 mph speed limit, Americans learned to use CB radios. Americans are quite resourceful when it comes to avoiding being screwed by government.

At least someone did. Republicans sat on their hands for years.

Why is it the government's job to give you healthcare? Should they also give you a house, car, job, food, cable tv?

Which is proving to be the right thing to have done.

I'm in a lot of manufacturing facilities in the course of my job. I'm noticing more and more in-plant healthcare facilities. Like there at Wal-Mart, it helps the employee, insurance co, and company.

In the course of my traveling, I see a lot of stand alone "Doctor-in-a-box" advertising office visit cash prices in the $50-$75 range.

Our county has this for county employees, dependents, and retirees. As a retiree I have been several times for various issues and it's great. Way faster than my old family doctor, the level of care is better because of fewer patients, and it's a whole lot cheaper. Talking with the Dr. he said he jumped at the opportunity because he would have went broke under Obamacare.

I know when I was in Spartanburg back in December for the Shrine Bowl that either Spartanburg city or county had something similar. It was located right across from the Marriott where we stayed.

Like I said all along. I think Obamacare is a ploy to get rid of the insurance middle man. Create a 2 tiered system of gov't insurance and private insurance. If you work it right, everybody would have the gov't insurance as catastrophic coverage and pay the provider cash (lowering the overall cost of care).
