I see nobody but you and me give a sh*t about this idea... It would definitely be a leap in the right direction. I honestly don't understand the point of making growing kids eat a slice of ham, a banana, and milk. My damn dogs and cats eat more than that.

You are absolutely 100% correct. She does not have her named affixed to any of these regulations and restrictions. However, these things don't take place in a vacuum. When a 1st Lady takes up an Initiatice she has the clout of her husband behind her. Do YOU want to be the one to tell the wife of the President NO on her pet project? Think back to othe 1st Ladies and the influence they had on their Initiatives: Just Say No with Nancy. Universal Health Care with Hillary and Reading with Laura. The list goes on and on. What the 1st Lady wants in these cases, the 1st Lady gets. It's nieve to think otherwise

What? I'm asking you to show me one part of Obamacare that he wrote which wasn't an executive order. There is no part, yet he promotes it just like his wifey poo promotes malnutrition in schools. Obamacare is wrapped around Obama's neck and Ethiopian school lunches are on his wife's head. Meanwhile, as the kids starve, she's getting the fat sucked out of her with lipo.

You people are nothing but a bunch of ******* idiots. I like to think that this is just a big joke for all you to laugh at, but it's pretty apparent that you're serious, and therefore, complete fools.

Quote:The latest outcry was in Warren County, Ky., where students at Warren East High School are supposedly being deprived of nutrition (video below).

On Tuesday, an unidentified mother posted a picture of a school tray with barely any food on Facebook and wrote, "This is what they're feeding my 6'3" boy."

However, that was actually the meal that the boy chose (and photographed) as the school has an all-you-can-eat cafeteria.

Parents Spread School Lunch Controversy, Students Debunk

Quote:After seeing the photo, the superintendent stopped by for lunch.

"We want their feedback, and I've been pleasantly surprised when I spoke to dozens of students today. I can't find any individual who claims that yesterday's lunch was not good," Clayton said.

Lunch plates were piled high, and when asked if they have enough to eat, students said yes.

"All the time, I'll be wanting to go to sleep as soon as I get done eating," Bowman said.

"They'll let you get as much vegetables as you want," Brit said.

Clayton said Warren County schools abide by federal regulations.

"So what our food service folks do is look at those guidelines and then look at the best way to provide a healthy and tasty meal as well," Clayton said.

He said students choose what goes on their plates, and picky eaters may turn down some menu items -- possibly explaining the photo posted online.

This is her initiative: Let's Move

Quote:Let’s Move! is a comprehensive initiative, launched by the First Lady, dedicated to solving the problem of obesity within a generation, so that children born today will grow up healthier and able to pursue their dreams. Sure, this is an ambitious goal. But with your help, we can do it.

Combining comprehensive strategies with common sense, Let’s Move! is about putting children on the path to a healthy future during their earliest months and years. Giving parents helpful information and fostering environments that support healthy choices. Providing healthier foods in our schools. Ensuring that every family has access to healthy, affordable food. And, helping children become more physically active.

And yes, the food we serve in schools (lunches and vending machines) are a part of that. But so is exercise also, which her group rightly includes as necessary to the changes in nutrition. It still doesn't change the fact that the standards are written by nutritionists and the like. She has no final say in any of this.

According to the kids eating these meals, they can't even sustain the energy for exercise because of the tiny portions they're getting. It might be decent for a 5 year old, but not for an 18 year old. A lot of the getting lazy and fat is attributed, IMHO, to cheap junk food. To eat healthy means spending lots of money and to a lower class citizen, that's not affordable.

Dropping school lunch portions isn't the answer. If they want to do something to make people healthier, they need to swap the prices of junk and healthy food. That's most likely impossible, but it's the first step in the right direction.

This. I LOVE vegetables but when I have to pay $10 for bell peppers that's a problem. I rarely ever buy anything that would be considered "junk food" but my grocery bills are pretty high for a single adult. Price of vegetables is correlated to cost of getting them out of the field and to the market. Everything the Liberal agenda does makes that more expensive. 03-idea
