RE: #18 Marshall at UAB
I hate to do this to the Blazers since you guys are in the position you are in right now, but this conference needs Marshall to win out. A win against Marshall won't change the UA BoT's minds about UAB Football, but Marshall getting the first Access Bowl spot and having a great showing in that bowl, could be a game-changer going into a TV contact off-season.

I don't care about any of that ^ I just want to see UAB pull off the upset. Especially since it could be our last home game, ever.

You must not be using the new CFP rankings which has the Herd unranked.

the 12 are doing their best to tow the corporate line.....

however, if the herd goes undefeated into the final week of rankings, there is no way they get left out....

even those bastards can't go that far......would immediately destroy any crazy semblance of credibility to even the most rabid p5 fan....would be an easy sympathy play to the media (disclaimer: not sure the g5 powers would recognize that)

I still hold the AP Top 25 in the highest regard. The playoff poll doesn't start at the beginning of the year and ends before bowl season.

AP is not the real ranking.

I am torn between the two. An upset would raise some eyebrows and put the heat on UAT. A win my the Herd would go towards an access bowl inclusion.

And Mike Tranghese (Former BE Commish) and Oliver Luck (Who AD) will do anything in their power to screw Marshall over.

Marshall is on 57 of the 60 AP ballots for the AP top 25
Marshall is on all but 2 coaches ballots for the Coaches top 25
109 Computer Polls have Marshall ranked 18th out of 112 computer rankings
A secret committee of 12 people leave Marshall out because we aren't a P5 school. Two of those 12 have an agenda against Marshall and one openly publicly insults them on a weekly basis

I fully expect the Blazer's best shot. Senior day, I bet a better crowd with all the pub around the program, a shot at bowl eligibility. Let's play some football.

I get nervous as hell anymore before games because I know that one loss will destroy our chance at the Access Bowl. I don't care who you play, anything can happen. Now that being said, I think the committee is doing us a favor by not ranking us. I have to believe it's a huge motivation to the players to be unrecognized by them. I think they come out blazing this week and keep the winning streak alive.

Marshall is good enough to absorb a team's best shot and still win by double digits. Blazers are going to need great effort and probably a few lucky bounces.

I hope these guys get a decent crowd and that casual fans haven't given up already.

This game feels like an upset game... I hope Marshall wins, but I have a feeling UAB is going to play spoiler.

This!! And I wouldn't want to get in that way either.. I'd be highly pissed off if a team just rolled over for us because they feel like it would hurt the conference as a whole.. F-That.. Play for UAB first and CUSA second.. This could be the Blazer's last home football game in the program's history.. They are trying to get themselves into a bowl.. They should be bringing everything they got and more against the Herd.. I just hope the Herd could handle it lol

RE: #18 Marshall at UAB
My personal opinion is that there are too many distractions going on at the campus for the football team to stay focus on the task at hand. The distractions are bigger than #18 Marshall.

The weather will be perfect and this will probably be the most attended game this season. But I fully expect a Marshall beat down this Sat. I hope I am wrong.
