When Miami gets out of its own way, watch out.

Miami's program will take longer to "rise" back up, and will stay "down" for longer because of a multitude of reasons working together: 1) Medium/Small number of "real" fans (ie, booster-paying, ticketing-purchasing, game-attending), 2), Below average facilities (no IPF, "home" stadium 45 minutes from campus, etc), 3) Coaching salaries aren't competitive, 4) Lack of necessary support staff and personnel.

The "right" hire will negate much of that, but the point is the aforementioned make it harder to hire the right guy in the first place.

Miami AD Blake James said a lighted practice field is on the way. What about an indoor facility? What he told me:

“Is it something that continues to be a priority for us? Without a doubt,” James told the Post before a Hurricanes booster event Wednesday in Orlando. “We’re working with campus on the drawings and what makes sense, and we’ll be ready to go. When that lead gift comes, we’ll be ready to go. It’s something that we need for our program.”

Let me know when it actually happens, like when one of these 6(?) Beckham stadiums get built that are going to host UMiami games.
