Honestly, I've found it more unusual for a mother, in particular, to condemn and blame their child than what this lady has said. Given the number of times I've seen a mother state that "my son was a good boy" as he's hauled away to begin a lengthy prison sentence, I'm guessing parents just have a hard time coming to grips with their child being a sh!thead criminal.

Here's a thought. The reason you don't see a mother condemn her son like that more often is because the mothers who would do such raised their kids with a sense of responsibility and moral standards, thus they rarely have the opportunity to do so.

I agree with that. But, you'd think with all of the people around her, some of them would help her go through the evidence and understand what happened. I instead think those around her have pushed her so far out in front of things that she cannot go back. She is all-in on her son being an angel and the state and local government lying and hiding what happened. I don't think she will ever admit otherwise until the cameras go away and things die down.

It would not make a difference. Her son is dead. She may know very well he was a thug, but still, he was her son. Pure emotion will trump logic any day.
