No, it won't. Find the right guy and it can be turned around in three to four years.

Agree and seriously we don't need buzz we don't need Marshall. If we found Fuente to lead our football team we can find a legit coach to replace Pastner

To many people I can't - you can't blah blah blah. You know what we can!

I say no on Stoudemire, even though I like him...can't afford to go that route again. Not at Memphis!

If Buzz, Pearl, Martin all decline (along w the big names like Shaka and Marshall) Wolken could be right. Wouldn't be the end of the world, but what Stammers, myself, and others have been saying would be a reality...no wow hires!

A wow hire is a great coach who wins games, not one who is a wow name. If it comes to replacing Pastner (sigh), Buzz would be a great call, and I would call Shaka (no) and possibly Marshall (no).

I'd call Avery Johnson (likely no), and I'd call Pearl (?).

But if not, Mike White, Damon, and Ron Hunter would all be worthy names.

It is what it is.

But I’ll say this to Memphis fans: If/when there is a change, the replacement possibilities will not be what you hope they will be.

I hope he's wrong, but he is probably dead on. Depressing.

I think best case is Archie Miller might listen. Otherwise Wolken might be close. But that is not a terrible list BTW.

Let's hope Pastner figures this out and makes the point moot.

F Wolken. Never liked that pompous prick anyway

Plenty of coaches would be interested. Parrish has said that Marshall would listen to an offer.

Wolken and the other clowns are going off of what happened during our last search. It was hard to hire a coach when we had to tell him the looming trouble with the NCAA. Coaches will shy away from that. Plus who wanted to follow Cal?

It is what it is.

Ron Hunter
- 20 years as a head coach
- ONE NCAA tournament game
- Best job, Georgia State

Mike White
- 4 years as a head coach
- ZERO NCAA tournament games
- Best job, Louisiana Tech

Damon Stoudamire
- ZERO years as a head coach

The miserables who say we are a top 15 program that can attract a great coach, where anyone can win, are going to get a very sobering does of reality.

Will there be big money for Pastner's replacement if we're paying the balance of his contract out? Plus paying Fuente's next extension?

The money is there, but this might be a 'dead money cap' situation... like in the NFL?

Not disagreeing, I think we'll have lots of options if need be, but there are indicators it might be an issue...
