Does this effect FCS schools or just the P5?

I've heard it effect any school that wants to pay it. Some conferences will make it mandatory (at least what I've heard). So I guess a free education with no school debt isn't good enough anymore.

Does the Big South have to approve it? Or can LU just offer stipends now?

That's what I was wondering as well. Can we decide on our own or does the big south have to approve? Second thought is can all current sun belt, mac, conf-usa schools afford to pay student athletes?

I hope it's decided per school. I think most G5 schools can afford it but the ones already on a shoe string budget might have some trouble. More booster funding for those school might be the answer. After this all settles some schools might have to make hard choices.

This just further separates the haves from the have nots and creates an expanding multi tier division of the football hierarchy. Appears we'll soon have an A-B-C tier with the G5 controlling the TV rights, which means ESPN will be in bed with the 5 top conferences and all others scrambling for the remaining pieces.
