Since 1997 (1st Year in 1A) Marshall is 58-64 against teams not named.....
Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Florida International, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Rice, Toledo, Tulane, UAB, Western Michigan.

Excellent post. Just as I thought. A bunch of win padding but not much else.

Oh its worse if you dig deeper. I just didn't look at teams they didn't have 3 or more wins against. Plenty of 1-0 or 2-0 against teams like....
Hofstra, Liberty, Rhode Island, SE Missouri St, Gardner Webb (who the heck is that?.....) and on and on.....
Since 1997: 7-24 versus current P5 teams.
Very little substance to their inflated record.

My proposal is all about settling the G5 debate on the field. Bring back old rivalries
LMAO! UCONN FB? TEMPLE FB? Empty stadium schools?
You do realize that an athletic CONFERENCE is about a lot more than what one school does in one sport.
UCONN Hoops is the bellcow of AAC basketball. Name me a CUSA school that invests in their coaches like SMU. Temple Basketball is one of the Top 10 winningest programs of All-Time.
Are you high?
Go away, Marshall fan.

To the OP. No thanks. UCF and our fanbase have no interest in ever sharing a conference with Marshall again.

Simple answer:
Yes.
To the Herd poster: The airport maybe (I have no clue)...but the City of Greenville is twice the size of Huntington. The surrounding area is also VASTLY more populated.
Plus less risk of being stoned down my moonshine crazed hillbillies. It's a win-win

Gardner Webb is a small private school in NC west of Charlotte. I think they are usually pretty bad even for FCS standards

As far as your plan goes, it doesn't make sense for the AAC to do that. It would be more mouths to feed with no additional money.
Are there any plans to build Memphis a new stadium on campus?

I wish. But as long as we can use city stadiums they will. It's always been that way for Memphis.

just saw this disgusting list and configuration, I would rather shut down our athletics completely than have to play terrible schools like Middle Tennessee, Western Kentucky and Southern Miss again. All garbage schools, we worked so hard to move up why on earth would we want to take a step down? These threads are getting more and more ridiculous.

The difference between then and than is very important in this situation....

Touchy subject, but as of now the LB will remain home. Of course the LB has been renovated and is looking good compared to several years ago. Not a bad seat in the house, good tailgating, and it's not far from campus. They are also planning a lot of mixed use development next to it.

NONSENSE
I honestly feel this would be the best option to settle the G5 debate, let the teams just settle it on the field. Obviously the AAC and the MW would be the stronger of the 2 conferences each year. But if we just settle it on the field instead of the message board back and forth, College football would be enjoyable again
I'm sorry, I must have missed the motivation for anyone in The American to go backwards and be a part of some hodgepodge of garbage like this.

This thread belongs in smack. The only legitimate post I would entertain would be putting all the CUSA and Sun Belt schools located in Texas, Arkansas, and New Mexico together in the same conference. Otherwise, send it to the dumpster!
