While you have a tendency to be quick with ad hominem attacks, I'll assume that you did not mean to come across as so terribly belligerent.

I still don't follow your logic: You're saying what the poster on the UConn board is intimating doesn't concern UConn directly, but rather all of FBS in part because you have some information about an impactful event.

The problem with this thinking is twofold: the Uconn-centric focus of the original claims, buttressed by more and further UConn claims, and two, and more importantly, if the UConn poster was possessed of the same type of information that you purportedly hold, why would the poster take care to shunt the conversation back to UConn repeatedly?

He doesn't.
The BIG 10 does want non-AAU schools.

(04-11-2015 10:16 PM)He1nousOne Wrote:  Wrong. It is obvious that the UConn moderator wants folks at that forum to think it is all about UConn but that doesn't mean such is the truth. It may have a positive affect on UConn in the end which would be why it would make him excited.

I find it funny Omni that you are attempting to "say what the poster was saying" when the poster was purposefully being very vague which means you CANT tell us what the poster is saying.

All I am saying is that he is not saying anything at all about UConn getting into anything. You and others are trying to fictitiously write that story as the truth but it's not.

Again, you may very well be proven right. But the path you are on in trying to get to a different result doesn't make sense in light of what was written.

Do you really think that any poster who wants to keep their reputation alive would willingly mislead a starving fanbase desperate to get into a P5 conference with what was copied verbatim above from said poster only to say later on, well what I was trying to convey back in April truly wasn't ABOUT UConn in terms of P5 membership (as you have tried to claim) but something altogether different that just might involve UConn in some way but doesn't actually lead to P5 membership?

If what he has heard doesn't have a chance of leading to P5 membership as an immediate impact of what was discussed, what he has written would be way more cautionary than the above, imho.

YMMV, as it often does.

Cheers,
Neil

He isn't misleading them. They are misleading themselves. After some things happen he will be able to explain then if he so feels like doing that. He is saying what he can at this time, that is all. It is on others if they try to attribute more to his words than what his words actually say.

If you wish to believe all that about me, you are more than welcome to. Once again though, I am not the one attributing more to what the UConn guy posted than what he actually posted.

Maybe you don't like me pointing out how you went along with the Herd on this one so you attack me personally. All I can say to that is that I am not a herd animal.

One thing I would never claim about H1 is being "one of the herd".

But please note, in every response, I have said that you may very well be proven right about what YOU are intimating the poster may be referring to. But you never acknowledge that what others believe he is hinting at is even possible.

So the other thing I will never claim about you, is that you are gracious poster.

Cheers,
Neil

Come on H1 it's the most fun we've had around here in months. Personally, I doubt anything is going on between the Big 10 and UConn. But if this guy is onto something it simply means that more movement is on the way. Maybe UConn slips in where somebody else gets taken, or maybe the Big 10 does take them. Either way it tells us a lot more. The only thing that it has going in its favor this time is the timing. If something was going to happen it was going to transpire prior to August 15th of this year if it was to be in effect by the start of the 2016-7 season. And depending upon the conferences involved it had to be by August for the 2017-8 season. So the rumors will fly, the speculation will swell, and realignment will once again be an escape from the tedium of the sameness of the general news. And if it brings resolution for a few decades then wonderful.

03-lmfao Touche.

Yes I saw those lawyer defense statements.

Why would I acknowledge that UConn may be going to The Big Ten? He doesn't even say that. The closest thing he says to pointing a finger at anyone is his comment about no coasts and no oceans. The most one can glean from his comments is that what is going on has nothing to do with the ACC or the PAC or it could mean that The Big Ten is not moving towards an Ocean or a Coast because the question posed to him that drew the ocean/coast response was a question about the B1G.

So actually I could draw a line to that comment of his that what I have been saying is what he is talking about.

Hey, I'm all for us having fun with this. I was just defending my state of mind so that folks understand and aren't mislead.

Also, I don't mind being the bad guy that stirs up the conversation.

Heinous, what information do you have? If it so globally relevant, why not share it?

As far as the Uconn poster, omniorange drew the same conclusion as I did:

The poster is attuned to the sensitivities of the UConn fan base. He is a moderator and frequent poster to the UConn board. For him to stride in, unsolicited, and proclaim what he did, no matter the level of nuance found in his words, it is awfully hard not to surmise that to his audience what he heard directly impacts UConn.

Now such a reading could be wildly off base, but under no circumstance is it less tenable than your interpretation.

Now you're just being cruel.

I don't think that NYU is jumping to the B1G - neither are SUNY upstate, Columbia (plus one rep to anyone who gets this reference), and/or Cornell.

...and I'm not sure what SUNY at Buffalo has to do with any of those schools.

Just so you guys know, my sources have nothing concerning UCONN moving anywhere at this time. The rumor is baseless and designed to gin up more traffic to the Boneyard. Hopefully, this clears it up for everyone.

You're welcome.
