Baseball Field of 64
I saw the speculated field of 64 for the NCAA baseball tournament. Unfortunately, the Big South was a one bid league. I was hoping that Liberty could earn an at large bid if we don't win the auto bid. We have a pretty good record so far, but so do a lot of teams across the nation. We haven't made any statements OOC this year. By the way, it wasn't Liberty they had in this mock field of 64, it was CCU.

What do you think? If we finish strong can we earn an at large bid? Hopefully we won't have to as BSC champs.

I saw we were ranked #35 in one pole and received votes in another. So if we get hot and go on a long winning streak, I think we could secure an at large bid.

We need some more wins over top caliber programs. Sweeping a DH from Maryland would be a great start.

Well that blows! We were up 4-0 early. Then we completely unraveled and choked in the 9th inning to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory over a quality Maryland team. Set up the tying run with an error and walked two more in. Boo!

Not a great weekend for the Flames. Lost 2/3 critical games against Coastal. Most likely cost us any shot at winning regular season championship. Now we have to sweep our last series of the season and Coastal and Radford would have to lose all three games of their final series. It's been a very lukewarm season thus far. Our only hope for an NCAA invite is to win the conference tourny. At least we picked up a nice win over Maryland in the midweek game. The record now stands at 32-19.

Liberty is pretty good at letting you down after you think you finally turn a corner. At least we believe in miracles!

It's a bit of a disappointment especially after the success last year. But we can still finish strong.

Looks like we were knocked out of the Big South tournament after two opening losses. We were the 4th seed I think after being preseason #1. Really disappointing finish to the season. Really disappointing winter and spring sports, specifically men's basketball and baseball. If we want to go FBS, we need to make football dominant if our other sports are going be mediocre.

Agree that we need men's basketball to significantly improve and for baseball to be consistent. If only those programs could even begin to approach what Carey Green and the women's basketball team has consistently achieved.

Yes, it would have been nice to see the baseball team finish stronger, but it was still a winning season. And the basketball team was woeful. But there were several spring Olympic Sports that did very well.
