Cuse inks series with UConn
This is going to be a fun thread. While some Cuse fans are reasonable and fair, a wing section of the fanbase likes to claim that they have no reason to play UConn in basketball as they are beneath them. Ignore the trophies and past results. So they routinely claim that doing a home and home with UConn in basketball or even a N game in MSG is a no win for them.

UConn fans claim they couldn't be more off base and laugh at it. But being locked out of the P5 they sort of just ignore it as time goes on.

So what happens? UConn and Cuse ink a football series. No basketball games.

Hahahahahahahahhaha

So the reality is UConn football which is the only questionable UConn thing to internet posters actually gets a series but Cuse basketball is so far beneath UConn in reality they couldn't even get a basketball game.

This is to much fun. All hail the ACC and its fans of delusion.

Edit: cherry on top, UConn and ND just agreed to a game in Barclays this coming season........in HOCKEY. Hahahah ACC fans talk crap then can't get UConn basketball but think they are getting and football, Texas, Alabama and PSU to join the conference and the network is going to pay billions. Ahahahaha

Or, Syracuse is just shopping for a W against a team that has been FCS quality but still is officially FBS to get them to bowl eligibility. 05-stirthepot

Yes that's it. ACC teams are now scheduling 2FCS teams per year to help the eventual conference champion get left out of the CFP yearly. Cuse has Colgate already on tilt. Hahahahahah

Here is a fun one. Since UConn built a team and went to the BE, what's the head to head record? Go ACC!!!!! You go girl!!!

So you already concede that at best Cuse was shopping for a 1-1 outcome to this series?

Seriously, I will be here all night....

I imagine that Syracuse looked around and saw a chance to get some games against a program that has not only lost but been beat down by such luminaries as Towson, Buffalo, and Temple the past two years and jumped at the chance to get some games.

Sooooooo, my key takeaway here is that a Providence fan is PO'd at Syracuse cutting them off and is whining about it. Nice.

I knew I was going to regret opening this thread. But now that I have...

The above is far from accurate. While there are still many SU fans who think we are on the same level as UConn in bb, I doubt only a few believe they are beneath us in that sport. What is mostly being said by some SU fans (which you are misinterpreting, imho) is that there is no reason to schedule them now that this powerhouse bb program is on the outside looking in. In other words, we only stand to lose by playing them because they are a tough bb opponent and that we should not help them in terms of basketball. Plus there is no recruiting reason to play them in bb like there is with St. John's, Villanova, and Georgetown.

Now in football, the attitude that UConn is "beneath" Syracuse is a correct assessment. Many SU fans also believe, like Noles fan poster Lou_C does, that the Orange "over-schedule" for their current talent level, which hurts the perception of the ACC.

So I don't expect much angst about signing a football series with the Huskies because it is a relatively easy road trip, we did once recruit the state of CT in football occasionally (not that it has much football talent) and it appears (at least on paper) as an "easy win".

While the truth of the latter part may be in question, it is how many SU fans perceive UConn football.

Thanks for playing the troll game but you need to run along now.

Cheers,
Neil

RE: Cuse inks series with UConn
We aren't playing UCONN in basketball because we have an ACC schedule and OOC games against Villanova (series just ended) and Georgetown (upcoming 10 year series).

As much as I would like to see a murder's row schedule, playing multiple elite teams OOC is crazy, given that we *are* going to participate in OOC tourneys with elite teams and an elite in-conference schedule.

Yes we are so afraid...LOL

Cuse has the pick of whom we want to play in hoops...former BE teams are lined up.

Even Providence will get a chance someday.

We are probably going to meet up with UConn in the Bahamas next year...u suck at trolling

Are you including Newberry Clown College in there too?

Nah. UConn didn't lose to Newberry the past two years. They probably would have lost, but alas they were too scared.
