RE: 2017 Football Recruits
Kevin "made it work" as evidenced by a much improved offense under his guidance.
I think it's fairly possible that he just didn't want to coach any more. Lots of people retire from jobs they loved...some just rest and the deranged few decide to drive a mulch truck.

RE: 2017 Football Recruits
This move seems unexpected to us as fans, and as fans we tend to read into things more than there is. I wouldn't read anything more into it other than there's a coach who gave 40 years to coaching young men and felt it was time to give his time to other things in his life.
We have an OC, we have a special team coach, need one more coach.
My biggest concern is the youth on our team. Will they dedicate themselves to developing physically over the summer? Will they hit the video room and work to eliminate the nental mistakes? If so, our coaches will be able to do a lot more on both sides of the vall.
2017 can be a success. More rests on the shoulders of our players and their choices this summer. If they make good choices, this staff can coach them up.

Whether we wanted to see Rogers go out on his own terms, that isn't what happened. Retiring is better than being fired.

The inference is that Coach Rogers didn't last. 40 plus years of coaching at the highest levels of the sport. I think Coach has earned the right to retire on his terms. He did. This is having no impact on his replacement. The offense will be fine next year. The OC will do fine. That said, it's ultimately up to the players to perform.

My intent with the response was to let the few who were worried that nothing's being done to know that they need not worry, it's done.
As football scoop noted, a search is on for a RB coach.
When the coaching staff sees the need to announce the names by position they will. I like what I've heard.
