Blazer85 Wrote:Come on now OwlJacket... youre certainly sticking your neck out there for no reason. What reason could you possibly have to think Rice has very much of a chance against UAB? Why dont you wait until you actually see a good performance by the Owls before you stick your neck out there and set yourself up to take alot of heat if/when UAB pounds Rice?

I think Rice's offense could give UAB SOME problems just because most teams dont run the type of offense Rice does anymore. I dont expect, however, for UAB and Hackney to have ANY trouble scoring on Rice.

UAB- 38
Rice- 17
I just want to know whether Watson or Ken will be more successful at running out the clock with draw plays on 3rd and 20 in the 4th quarter! 03-puke

Hey Blazer Fans - quick question since I'll be heading to Legion Field this weekend:

Since UCF broke the longest losing streak in the nation last week and got to tear down the goalposts, and we'll break the streak this week, I figure we should do the same. Which goalpost is easier to take down: north or south?

Oh, never mind. Why am I asking UAB fans? It's not like you've ever had a big enough win to warrant taking down the goalposts...

Maybe I'll just loosen them up for you just in the unlikely event that you finally beat USM in a few weeks...

Another quick question for UAB fans:

Do all schools in Alabama have people jump off the sidelines to tackle our players on breakaway runs? I guess we'll find out this weekend...

So, which dragon would best represent UAB?

Puff the Magic Dragon

Relationship to UAB: 'Frolics in the Autumn Mist', which is incidentally Darrel Hackney's second favorite hobby, after eating...

What a great picture!

Yeah, those college days were a blast.

BTW, in the unlikely event that God should smile on Rice this weekend, just try taking down the goal posts. You'll never even make it onto the playing field.

Birmingham's Finest will go old school on you. 05-mafia

In the second half of our game 2 weeks ago, we outscored Texas in the second half 10-9.

Granted, this was against UT's scrubs, but their scrubs are better than anything we'll see this weekend. (Granted this may not be a fair comparison - we don't know how we'd match up with Crimson Tide scrubs; I gues we'll find out this weekend 03-razz)
hmm that's all a great accomplishment outscoring the #2 Texas team by 1 point in the second half with their scrubs in the game while being blown out.... (10-51)

Compare that with shutting out & outscoring the #3 Tennessee team 7-0 in the second half against their 1st team players and having a shot to actually win the game in the 4th quarter... (10-17)

Our Rice is better than your Rice

Maybe back in the '40s, you were good enough to run for touchdowns against the Tide, and some ole redneck came off the sideline and tackled your guy, but I wouldn't worry about that this time. You'll be hard pressed to threaten the endzone on Saturday.

Yeah...right...JSU knocked 4 freaking touchdowns on you. If we don't win this game, it will be a HUGE dissapointment to the team.

BTW nice smack by both sides.

This is good smack my both sides. Nothing nasty or dirty just good fun. Much more enjoyable than trading smack with the defectors to the Big Least.

That being said..........

Fried Rice = 13
UAB = 52

Rice gets a late TD against the third teamers............ 03-nutkick

Hey OwlSD, what's the URL for the page where you got that pic? (Stupid Tripod is blocking the picture -- all I see is their "Hosted By Tripod" thing.)
