1. Illinois is 4-0 against NIU since 1992..

2. Big Ten team is the defending National Champ

There are only 2-3 good teams in the Big Ten and the rest are mediocre.

Also, stop bringing up past results for the Illness vs NIU considering they have no effect on what would happen today.

NIU has already essentially beaten the bottom half of the Big 10 over the past 5-6 years (Iowa, Northwestern, Minnesota, Purdue 2x) so the Illness would be lucky to be favored in a game against NIU. Their fans can talk all the smack they want but they are afraid to schedule NIU. Atleast Northwestern had the b*lls to do it but they probably won't again.

Let's see what happens when Ohio St beats NIU by 40.. NIU has done a good job sneaking up on a few lower tier Big Ten teams that have overlooked the Mac school, so good for them..

As far as the Illini not wanting to schedule NIU, the same can be said for NIU declining to play ISU a few years ago..

Depends on your definition of a good team.. If only 2-3 in the B10 by your definition, then zero good teams in the Mac

Yeah "overlooked" a team with multiple 11+ win seasons plus a BCS Bowl appearance. You sure are something, to say the least.

On the national aspect when comparing to the top teams in the nation, you are right, there are no "good" MAC teams.

But in comparison to the G5 conferences as a whole, there are currently 4 good MAC teams (NIU, Toledo, WMU, BGSU) with a possible 1-2 additional.

When a Big Ten team plays NIU, they have 7-8 games of more importance on their schedule.. But it's THE game to NIU.. Let them play a Big Ten schedule, it wouldn't be pretty..

Nice Illinois crowd vs OSU at home in 2014, and lost lost 55-14 last year.. Losing by 41 is pretty close to 40 you allude too huh?
