What are my fellow Houston Metro people doing for Rita?

Right I am planning on going and getting water and supplies and riding it out.

Depends on where you are in the Houston Metro area. I'll be staying at home way out 290 the next couple days where I'm not in the 100 year flood plain instead of coming to the office where I am far more likely to get swamped, literally as well as figuratively!

I am in Mo. City. I have been looking at the maps and even for a Cat. 5 we are not in the surge zone.

Will probably talk to a few neighbors and get their thoughts, but as of now I am staying put.

I'm not sure how Mo. City does in a heavy rain. It is certainly near enough to the rice fields of Katy and the river to your west that I would guess that it is probably pretty lacking in elevation, even for Houston! Of course a lot will depend on how the drainage system near you is set up. I'm up in Cypress and didn't even have water across the street when Alisha came through, primarily because we are set up to dump all of our water across 290 into those aforementioned rice fields!

Asked one of my neighbors about that and they said our neighborhood did not flood.

If you go there will be trouble;
And if you stay it will be double.

Hope everything's OK, mump! In the meantime, I've started up some Cougar High-Ku on the Tulsa board. (Not my best work... we'll start out with a little light sparring.)

Stayed put and did not have any issues. Was a litttle nervous Wednesday night, but after Thursday and seeing that Rita was tracking to the east, I started feeling a lot better. Basically all we got was some wind.
