They're hungry now, yea?

And yet where's the money? How is D'Onofrio still the DC? How are they going to pay for two head coaches and hire a competent staff?

Money is a real issue. They're not broke, but they're basically a UCF/USF-sized AD if you take out the ACC tv revenue.

D'O is the DC because Golden won't get rid of him.

As for the money, time for the boosters and alums to pony up. The U has more players in the NFL than any of team in college football.

They won't in a few years once their early 00's guys retire. They aren't sending many there now.

True, but we're talking about making a change with Golden now.

Strike while the iron is hot.

Doesn't matter when they strike, their NFL numbers will continue to slide the next few years.

I like Miami's helmets. And if the fabric didn't have that "sheen" crap on it, it wouldn't be so bad. FAU? Not a fan of any of that.

Wow ... what an unprofessional crew by Fox. They are openly sh*tting on having to be covering the game at this point. I'd be pissed if I were C-USA. And if I were the ACC, I'd demand personnel changes if Fox carried the ACC.

Anyone have any specifics on what they were saying? I missed the game. I like to keep track of this b/c it's serious business when your teams or conference is being dogged in such a public fashion.

Usually it's Espn doing this kind of cheap-shotting, of course. But Cbs totally wouldn't show the UofL crowd in the Auburn game, made it look like it was all AU & the Cards didn't bring a bunch of people... and now this. Was it mostly aimed at Cusa, or the ACC as well...?

You should be able to watch the replay on FSGO I think?

They were bemoaning missing their wedding anniversary. Bemoaning it being tomorrow. Bemoaning anything that delayed the game clock. Openly begging for Miami players to tweet them so they could read it on air "because we'll read anything from Portis at this point".

Oh I don't know about that. People said the same thing about Petrino and Louisville. How'd that turn out?

Patrino didn't leave Louisville in a heap of sanctions & was successful.

RE: Open Thread - Week 2
I heard them make a few jokes about how long the game was talking, but it was true. That worthless weather delay was a problem. I didn't hear anything like "it would be wonderful if this game would end now. I've got better things to do."

I remember things like, "yes, the 3rd quarter isn't over yet and it's almost midnight on the east coast". Since the announcers were actually in a studio in los Angeles.

And they did show a portis tweet in the first half(?) and then brought up more tweets in the late 3rd/early 4th at some point. But I don't remember them showing any other than the one by port is, though. They did say, "there are your football gods, Clinton" after Walton fumbled his hand off into the endzone where he recovered his own fumble for a touchdown.

If they said anything beyond that, I missed it. Or it came later in the 4th.

The acc isn't going to be "carried" by Fox because espn is our daddy. And our daddy doesn't even love us, hence "esecpn".

Maybe the acc should have a talk with espn.

From somewhere around 7:00 in the 4th onward it was brutal, and contained much of the stuff I mention.

With what these guys are being paid to talk about a football game they are watching, they should always be professional.

If they are not on-site then I don't get the complaints about an anniversary... do they not live near where they work? That's their own fault.

OTOH, not much good to say about a blowout that runs pas midnight...

A blow out, Mark? Odd way to describe a game that was tied 20-20 midway through the third.

Alright.

Espn disrespects the acc and it's clearly an organizational directive.

I think it is time to let Corso go. He's becoming Holtz-ian out there. Rece Davis was a good add. Replace Corso and Pollack. And get rid of the "QB whisperer" BS guy.

Again ESPN reinforces that they don't care about any games against FCS or even G5. Only game in the ACC talked about was FSU PURELY because it was coming up after Gameday ... and ND-UVA. Not even picks for the rest of the ACC or even a mention. Not even picks for the SEC teams that weren't playing P5.
