Thank goodness we are no longer in the pre-season silly season, but its still early days, and this is still a game played by young men constantly learning more about playing the game. Not only won't have enough results to tell with any confidence which are the contenders and which are the pretenders ... but the best team in September can quite easily be passed by a team that builds through to November.

Right now LSU sure looks good. I know Auburn isn't good- but still, to beat them like that was impressive. The RB looks like a beast.

Auburn doesn't lack weapons. But until they have someone at QB that can effectively deal the ball they won't be in any big contest. Malzahn is so stubborn that Johnson stayed in the entire game, even late trailing by 24. Absurd!

Yeah I got to admit, I am liking the Ole Miss defense. If they can get their QB to be a little more dependable, they could go all the way. LSU looks great after Auburn but we have yet to know if it's due to Auburn or if it's due to LSU.
Now, Ohio State on the other hand...Urban better start breaking that foot off up in that. Who knows, maybe Miller will play QB again if that bs continues.

didn't you learn your lesson not posting stuff too early? Ole Miss defense looks gassed. It's 43-37 with 4:33 to go.

Are you actually pulling for Alabama? I have a general rule, I root for anyone and everyone that plays Alabama.

tough to say that Ole Miss defense was all that great. gave up 37 points.
LSU is the team from the SEC that I think may be the best.

In the end, Ole Miss won on the strength of the "Whoopsie-Daisy Left" play.
I guess that's why they play the games. Sometimes things happen that there's no accounting for.

yep. And the last pass where QB was behind scrimmage.... But man, they do need to fix the downfield rule- that lineman was clearly 5 yards downfield.

With the line at 17, UGA was supposed to win that game in blowout fashion. It just seems impressive because the Dawgs normally find a way to screw the pooch against SCAR every year.
But as I've teased my wife, Richt still has the Vols, a pissed off Saban and the cocktail party still to play. Plenty of opportunities for Georgia to retain the title of most underachieving team of the year.
